Day 1: Arrival in Udaipur – Transfer to Jawai

Arrive in Udaipur and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Jawai, a landscape of granite hills and open scrubland in the Pali district, known for its resident leopard population. The drive covers approximately 150 km and takes around 3.5 hours, following the scenic Ranakpur road through the Aravalli hills. After checking in at your camp, head out for your first leopard safari between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, tracking the rocky outcrops where Jawai’s leopards are most active at dusk. Return to camp for a bonfire dinner under the stars, with views over the Jawai hills. Overnight stay in Jawai.

Day 2: Jawai Safari and Rabari Village Experience

Start early with a morning leopard safari from 5:00 am to 8:00 am, moving through the granite boulders and dry riverbeds where leopards share territory with local shepherds. After breakfast, visit Jawai Dam for its birdlife: flamingos, pelicans, cranes and storks gather along its waters, alongside marsh crocodiles basking on the rocks. In the afternoon, walk through a nearby Rabari village to see the daily life of Rajasthan’s pastoral herding community, whose coexistence with the leopards has made this region unusual among India’s wildlife destinations. Head out for a second safari between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, timed for the last light over the hills. Overnight stay in Jawai.

Day 3: Jawai – Udaipur Departure

Start with an early leopard safari for a final chance at a sighting, followed by breakfast at the camp. Check out and transfer back to Udaipur, approximately 3.5 hours by road. Travellers with extra time can stop at Ranakpur Jain Temple en route, known for its marble carving and pillared halls, before drop-off at Udaipur for onward departure.
