Set off early for Daringbadi in the Kandhamal hills, roughly 247 km and around 5.5 to 6.5 hours by road via NH16 and NH59, or a slightly shorter run via Nayagarh and Odagaon. This is a long travel day and is built as one — an early start is essential to reach the hills in daylight, since the final stretch is winding Ghat road best not driven after dark. Break the drive with a lunch stop and a leg-stretch en route. Arrive in the late afternoon, check in at the Daringbadi Nature Camp or a hill resort, and settle in by a bonfire as the temperature drops. Overnight stay in Daringbadi.

Day 2: Daringbadi Sightseeing – Pine, Coffee, Valleys and Viewpoints

A full, unhurried day among the hill station’s spread-out sights, rewarding the long drive of Day 1. Day 4: Long Descent to Bhubaneswar – Departure

After an early breakfast, check out and begin the long return descent to Bhubaneswar, around 247 km and 5.5 to 6.5 hours by road. Timed to leave the hills in the morning, the drive reaches Bhubaneswar by evening for an onward train or flight. An optional break at Chilika (Barkul) or a temple stop can be added if the schedule allows. Overnight journey onward.
