Escape to Odisha’s highlands and coast on the 3N/4D Daringbadi & Gopalpur Tour, blending misty hills with a serene seaside finale. From Berhampur, ascend to cool Daringbadi for pine jungles, coffee estates and valley views, then descend to sun‑drenched Gopalpur-on-Sea. This 3N/4D Daringbadi & Gopalpur Tour promises shifting landscapes, relaxed sightseeing and memorable sunrises and sunsets.
Arrive in Berhampur (Brahmapur) and meet our tour representative at the railway station. Set off on the climb to Daringbadi, roughly 115 to 125 km and around 4 hours by winding Ghat road into the Kandhamal hills, with optional stops en route at the Taptapani sulphur hot spring and the Jeerang Buddhist monastery. The road itself is the experience — plains give way to pine, coffee gardens and cool air as you climb to 3,000 feet. Check in at the Daringbadi Nature Camp or a hill resort. The evening is best spent simply: the temperature drops sharply after dark, so settle in by a bonfire with the mountain quiet. Overnight stay in Daringbadi.
A full day among the hill station’s spread-out sights. Visit the pine jungle and the coffee and pepper plantations that give Daringbadi its character, the Emu farm at Kirikuti (about 14 km out), Lover’s Point where the Doluri river winds through the valley (about 13 km), the Butterfly Park and the sunset viewpoint. The pleasure here is the cool climate and the scenery rather than a checklist — this is a place to breathe slowly. In peak winter, dawn can bring frost, a rarity anywhere else in Odisha. Overnight stay in Daringbadi.
After breakfast, check out and descend from the hills to the coast, transferring to Gopalpur-on-Sea, roughly 130 to 140 km and around 4 hours by road via Berhampur. The contrast is the point — from cold pine hills to a warm golden beach in a single day. Check in at your beachfront hotel or the OTDC Panthanivas. Spend the late afternoon on the calm, swimmable sand, ending at the colonial-era lighthouse for a panoramic view over town and the Bay of Bengal. Overnight stay in Gopalpur.
A slow beach morning — sunrise over the bay, a final walk, and fresh seafood or Ganjam handloom shopping in Berhampur. Check out and transfer to Berhampur, a short 16 km and around 30 to 40 minutes by road, in time for your onward train. Overnight journey onward.
Daringbadi Hill Station at 3,000 Ft, Pine Jungles and Coffee and Pepper Plantations, Near-Freezing Winter Mornings and Possible Frost, Emu Farm, Lover’s Point and Doluri Valley, Sunset Viewpoints, Optional Taptapani Hot Spring and Jeerang Monastery En Route, Gopalpur-on-Sea Golden Beach and Colonial Lighthouse, Fresh Ganjam Seafood.

A fantastic combination of hills and beach. Daringbadi was peaceful and refreshing with its pine forests, coffee plantations and cool climate, while Gopalpur offered a completely different coastal atmosphere. The transition from the hills to the sea made this a very memorable trip.
We had an excellent experience exploring Daringbadi and Gopalpur. The mountain roads, pine jungle, coffee gardens and valley viewpoints were beautiful. Gopalpur beach and the old lighthouse were equally enjoyable. The tour was well planned and comfortable throughout.
A wonderful journey combining the cool Eastern Ghats with the warm Odisha coast. We loved the peaceful atmosphere of Daringbadi, especially the plantations and sunset views, and enjoyed relaxing by the sea at Gopalpur. A great mix of nature, scenery and local culture.
