Day 1: Lucknow to the Perfume Capital

On arrival at Lucknow Airport, you will be received and driven to Kannauj (approximately 80 km, indicatively a 2 to 2.5-hour drive depending on the exit route out of Lucknow). After check-in, the afternoon is free to settle in and rest after the flight. In the evening, visit a local Perfume Gallery or heritage attar house to understand how Kannauj built its reputation as India’s perfume capital, tracing the trade from the Harshavardhana era through the Mughal period. Day 2: The Deg-Bhapka Alchemy & Bespoke Blending

A full, unhurried day in Kannauj, with none of the compression a shorter itinerary would need. Start early (season permitting) with a walk through Damask Rose or Bela Jasmine fields at dawn to witness the hand-harvesting process. Return for breakfast, then visit a traditional attar distillery for a Deg-Bhapka Distillery Walk, watching master distillers (dighoos) tend copper stills through the hydro-distillation process. After lunch, step into a Blending Workshop or “”Fragrance Bar”” to experiment with natural ingredients and build your own bespoke attar. Late afternoon is free for a market walk to browse and buy directly from established attar houses. Overnight stay in Kannauj.

Day 3: Unhurried Transfer to Agra

Check out after breakfast and depart for Agra (approximately 235 km, indicatively 4.5 to 5.5 hours depending on the route through Etawah and Firozabad). With no guided activity competing for the day, this transfer can be taken at a comfortable pace, with stops as needed. On arrival in Agra, check in and rest. Depending on arrival time and light, an optional visit to Mehtab Bagh for a sunset view of the Taj Mahal across the river can be arranged. Overnight stay in Agra.

Day 4: Guided Agra Tour, then Departure via Delhi

A full guided day covering Agra’s principal monuments: the Taj Mahal at sunrise or mid-morning (light and crowd conditions vary by season and day of week), Agra Fort, and Itimad-ud-Daulah (“”Baby Taj””), with time built in rather than rushed between sites. Given the late evening flight, there is genuine flexibility here – a relaxed lunch, some time for shopping (marble inlay and leather goods are Agra’s specialities), or a short stop at Fatehpur Sikri en route if the client wants to add it (roughly 40 km off the direct route, adding 2 to 3 hours). Depart for Delhi Airport in the afternoon (approximately 230 km via the Yamuna Expressway, indicatively 3.5 to 4 hours in clear conditions), arriving with a comfortable buffer ahead of a late evening flight.
