Day 1: Arrival in Mumbai / Pune – Transfer to Ganpatipule

Arrive in Mumbai or Pune and meet our tour representative at the airport, railway station, or at Ratnagiri station if you are travelling by the Konkan Railway. Transfer to Ganpatipule, a small coastal village around 25 km north of Ratnagiri, built around a shore temple and a long white sand beach. After checking in at your hotel, take darshan at the Swayambhu Ganpati Temple, where the idol faces west towards the sea and devotees walk a pradakshina path around the hill behind it. End the day on Ganpatipule Beach for sunset. Overnight stay in Ganpatipule.

Day 2: The Northern Coast, Jaigad and Ganeshgule

After breakfast, visit the Prachin Konkan Museum, an open-air recreation of traditional Konkan village life set beside the temple. Drive north along the coast road to Jaigad Fort at the mouth of the Shastri river, and to the Karhateshwar Temple on the cliff nearby. Stop at Bhandarpule Beach on the way back. In the late afternoon, keep the beach at Ganpatipule for sunset, or continue to the lighthouse point if access permits. Overnight stay in Ganpatipule.

Day 3: Ratnagiri and the Southern Coast

After breakfast, drive south past Malgund, the birthplace of the Marathi poet Keshavsut, and take the Aare Ware coast road where the highway runs high between two headlands. Continue to Ratnagiri for the Thibaw Palace, built in 1910 to house the exiled Burmese king Thibaw Min, and the Lokmanya Tilak Birthplace Museum in the old town. Visit Ratnadurg Fort on the headland, built out over three sides of a promontory with the Bhagwati Temple inside it. Return to Ganpatipule in the evening. Overnight stay in Ganpatipule.

Day 4: Ganpatipule – Mumbai / Pune Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Take a last darshan at the temple, or visit a working Alphonso orchard if you are travelling in season, depending on your departure time. Transfer back to Mumbai or Pune for your onward journey.
