In the evening, visit Cauvery Arts & Crafts Emporium, the state-run craft outlet, for a broader look at Karnataka’s textile and handicraft traditions. Overnight stay in Mysore.
After breakfast, visit Mysore Palace, the seat of the Wodeyar dynasty and the same royal patronage that established the silk industry a century ago. In the afternoon, dedicated time for saree shopping at KSIC’s outlets or other verified government-run stores, and a browse through Devaraja Market for smaller textile finds and local goods. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Mysore.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Bangalore, stopping en route at Channapatna, about 60 km from Mysore, known for its GI-tagged wooden lacquered toys, a distinct but complementary Karnataka craft tradition worth a browse before continuing the drive. Arrive in Bangalore by early evening.

I joined this tour mainly because of my interest in silk sarees, and Ocean6 Holidays planned the experience very thoughtfully. The KSIC visit and dedicated saree-shopping time were exactly what I was looking for. I also enjoyed exploring Devaraja Market and Cauvery Arts & Crafts Emporium, where we could discover more of Karnataka’s handicraft traditions. The Channapatna stop on our return journey was a lovely addition. A very enjoyable 3-day experience for textile and craft lovers.
The Mysore Silk Saree Tour with Ocean6 Holidays was a wonderful combination of travel, heritage and shopping. Visiting the KSIC Silk Factory was the highlight for me. Watching how Mysore silk sarees are woven and learning about the zari work made me appreciate the craftsmanship behind every saree. Mysore Palace added a beautiful historical dimension to the experience. The itinerary was comfortable and never felt rushed. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Indian handlooms and traditional textiles.
Our small group had a fantastic time on this tour arranged by Ocean6 Holidays. The combination of Mysore Palace, silk, handicrafts, local shopping and Channapatna made the itinerary interesting throughout. There was sufficient time to browse the sarees without feeling hurried, which was important for us! The silk-factory experience was particularly fascinating and gave us a much better understanding of authentic Mysore silk. A lovely choice for friends, families and saree enthusiasts looking for something different from a regular Mysore sightseeing tour.
