Day 01: Srinagar to Kargil via Sonmarg

Morning on arrival at Srinagar Airport drive to Kargil passing the panoramic village en route to Sonmarg (2,740 meters). After Sonmarg the road becomes rough and wet as you ascend to Zojila Pass (3,527 meters) the gateway to Ladakh; continue the drive to Drass where you stop for tea and passport check and visit the War Memorial and museum; another 2.5 hours drive takes you to Kargil (2,710 meters) a town that gained prominence after Ladakh opened to tourists in 1974. Day 02: Kargil to Leh via Fotula Pass

After breakfast drive to Leh crossing several high passes and scenic villages; pass the Buddhist village of Mulbek with its giant Buddha rock sculpture and cross Fotula Pass (13,749 ft) on the Srinagar Leh route, then descend toward Nimu where you can view the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus rivers; en route visit Magnetic Hill and Pathar Sahib Gurudwara before arriving in Leh (3,500 meters) later in the day to visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and the local market. Day 03: Leh Local Sightseeing Shey and Hemis

After breakfast drive to Sindhu Darshan on the banks of the historic Indus River about 7 km from Leh, then visit Shey Palace the ancient summer retreat of the royal family, proceed to Hemis Gompa the largest Drukpa Kagyu monastery built in 1630 housing fine wall paintings and thangkas, continue to Thiksey Monastery perched on a hill with stupas and Buddha statues, visit Rancho School Druk White Lotus, and enjoy some free time in the afternoon. Day 04: Leh to Nubra via Khardungla Pass

Day 05: Nubra Excursion Turtuk and Thang

After breakfast drive to Turtuk a village opened to tourists in 2010 that was under Pakistan until 1971; pass Thoise military airfield, visit the Turtuk wooden bridge, Shyok war memorial, Balti Heritage House and museum and Turtuk Waterfalls; proceed to Thang Zero Point subject to operations for a photo stop near the Line of Control about 2.2 km away where Indian and Pakistani bunkers can be seen and Shyok river enters Pakistan, then return to Nubra. Overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 06: Nubra to Pangong via Shyok

Start the day retracing the route toward Leh until Khalsar, take the left turn at Agyam bridge toward Shyok and Durbuk, follow the steep road after Shyok and turn left after Durbuk toward Tangtse then continue to Pangong Lake situated at about 14,000 ft; explore the brackish lake whose larger portion lies in China, look for wildlife, visit the 03 Idiot shooting point, try local food at lakeshore eateries and relax to enjoy the colour changing lake and sunset. Overnight stay in Pangong.

Day 07: Pangong to Leh via Changla Pass

Early morning enjoy the sunrise over the lake; after breakfast drive back to Leh with a short halt at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot tea and scenic views before returning to Leh. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 08: Leh Departure Airport Transfer
