Day 01: Leh Arrival and Acclimatization

Arrival at Leh airport where you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Check in and spend a full day resting for acclimatization; the hotel will serve welcome tea and coffee. Use the day to relax and adjust to the altitude and explore the immediate vicinity of the hotel if you wish. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 02: Kargil via Lamayuru and Historic Sites

After breakfast depart Leh for Kargil via Fotu La pass and Namki La pass on the Srinagar to Leh road. En route visit the Hall of Fame War Museum built by the Indian Army, Patthar Sahib Gurudwara, the Magnetic Hill where vehicles appear to defy gravity, the Sangam of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, Alchi Gompa with its 11th and 12th century wall paintings, the Moon Land scenic area, and Lamayuru Monastery one of Ladakhs oldest gompas. Arrive in Kargil in the evening and check in. Overnight stay in Kargil.

Day 03: Kargil to Leh Drass War Memorial and Monasteries

After breakfast check out and visit Drass including the Drass War Memorial also known as Vijay Memorial, then proceed to Mulbekh Monastery and the Maitreya Buddha statue. Drive back to Leh in the evening, check in to the hotel and visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and walk around the local market in Leh. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 04: Nubra Valley via Khardung La and Desert Sights

After breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La pass enjoying spectacular snow capped mountain views. After time at Khardung La proceed to Nubra, with optional adventure activities like ATV rides available on direct payment basis. After hotel check in visit the 108 foot Maitreya Buddha, Diskit Monastery, Hunder village and the cold desert where the double humped camels are found, and enjoy sand dunes with optional double humped camel rides on direct payment basis. Overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 05: Turtuk and Thang Cultural and Border Visit

After breakfast drive to Turtuk which opened to tourists in 2010 and was under Pakistan until 1971. En route pass by Thoise military airfield and visit the Turtuk wooden bridge, Shyok war memorial, Balti Heritage House and Museum, and Turtuk waterfalls. Proceed to Thang Zero Point subject to operations for a photo stop at the line of control area near the northernmost villages and view Indian and Pakistani bunkers across the border. Return to Nubra and overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 06: Nubra to Pangong via Shyok and Tangtse

Depart Nubra following the same route to Khalsar then take the left route via Agyam bridge to Shyok and Durbuk, then on to Tangtse and drive to Pangong Lake. Explore the lake shore, visit the three idiot shooting point, sample local food at lakeside eateries, and enjoy the color changing water and sunset on the banks of the high altitude brackish lake. Overnight stay in Pangong.

Day 07: Pangong to Leh Changla and Monastery Circuit

Enjoy an early sunrise at Pangong Lake and after breakfast drive back to Leh with a short halt at Changla Pass for tea. En route visit Shey Palace the ancient capital of Ladakh, Thiksey Monastery with its stupas thangkas and wall paintings, and Hemis Monastery the largest Drukpa Kagyu monastic foundation housing fine thangkas and historic objects. Arrive in Leh, check in and rest. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 08: Leh Departure and Farewell

After early morning transfers to Leh airport board your flight for the onward destination. Journey ends with sweet memories.
