2N/3D Bhandardara Tour

Day 1: Departure from Mumbai/ Pune – Transfer to Bhandardara

Depart Mumbai/ Pune early and meet our tour representative at your pickup point, or at Kasara or Igatpuri station if you are travelling by train. Transfer to Bhandardara in Ahmednagar district, around 165 km via the Kasara ghat and Igatpuri, or via Nashik Phata and Sangamner depending on conditions. The final 40 km run on narrow ghat roads and the drive realistically takes four to five hours. After checking in at your hotel, visit the Wilson Dam and Arthur Lake, then Randha Falls, where the Pravara drops through a gorge below the dam. End the day on the lake shore as the light goes off the ridge. Overnight stay in Bhandardara.

Day 2: Kalsubai Base, Ratanwadi and the Lake Circuit

After breakfast, drive to Bari village at the base of Kalsubai, the highest peak in Maharashtra at 1,646 metres. Travellers who want the summit should plan a full day with a pre-dawn start and a local guide; those who prefer a shorter walk can take the lower trail and return. Continue to Ratanwadi for the Amruteshwar Temple, an 11th-century stone temple in the Hemadpanthi style, reached along the far side of the lake or by boat when water levels allow. Visit the Ratangad Fort base if time and fitness permit. Return to Bhandardara in the evening. Overnight stay in Bhandardara.

Day 3: Bhandardara – Mumbai/ Pune Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Stop at Umbrella Falls if the dam is in overflow, or at the Samrad village viewpoint above the Sandhan Valley, then transfer back to Mumbai/ Pune. Travellers returning via Igatpuri may break the drive at the Bhatsa River Valley viewpoint or Camel Valley on the way down.
