Day 1: Mangalore – Honnavar

Depart Mangalore by road, approximately 175 to 180 km and 3.3 to 3.5 hours via the coastal NH66. Check in at your homestay or lodge by mid-afternoon. Visit Kasarkod Beach and the nearby Mangrove Boardwalk for an easy walk through the Sharavathi estuary’s wetlands. In the evening, head to Apsarakonda, where a waterfall meets a beach known for its sunset views. Overnight stay in Honnavar.

Day 2: Basavaraja Durga and Gerusoppa

After breakfast, a boat trip out to Basavaraja Durga, a fortified island built during the Vijayanagar era, weather and tide permitting. In the afternoon, drive to Gerusoppa, about 34 km away, once the seat of the Chowta dynasty, for Gerusoppa Fort and Neelakanteshwara Temple, followed by a short forest walk to Chaturmukha Basadi, a 14th-century Jain temple. Overnight stay in Honnavar.

Day 3: Honnavar – Gokarna

After breakfast, check out and drive to Gokarna, about 50 to 60 km and 1 to 1.5 hours via NH66. Check in by early afternoon, then visit Mahabaleshwara Temple, home to the Atmalinga. Evening at Kudle Beach or Om Beach. Overnight stay in Gokarna.

Day 4: Gokarna Beaches

After breakfast, a full day beach-hopping along Gokarna’s coastline. Om Beach and Kudle Beach are road-accessible and good for a relaxed swim, while Half Moon Beach and Paradise Beach are reached only by a cliffside trek or a short boat ride from Om Beach. Evening at leisure by the water. Overnight stay in Gokarna.

Day 5: Gokarna – Karwar

After a relaxed breakfast, check out and drive to Karwar, about 60 km and 1.5 hours via NH66, close to the Karnataka-Goa border. Check in by early afternoon, then visit Rabindranath Tagore Beach in the heart of town and Sadashivgad Fort, a hilltop fort overlooking the Kali river’s confluence with the Arabian Sea. Evening at Devbagh Beach, a calmer, casuarina-lined stretch across the Kali estuary. Overnight stay in Karwar.

Day 6: Kurumgad Island

After breakfast, a ferry from Sadashivgad jetty to Kurumgad Island, a tortoise-shaped island close to Devbagh known for snorkeling, dolphin spotting and a hilltop Narasimha shrine. Return by early afternoon, with time for the Warship Museum or Karwar Aquarium in town. Overnight stay in Karwar.

Day 7: Karwar – Mangalore Departure

After breakfast, check out and depart on the return drive to Mangalore, approximately 280 km and 5.5 to 6 hours via NH66, arriving late in the evening.
