Day 01: Kandy Arrival and Elephant Orphanage

Arriving at Katunayake International Airport in the morning you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and driver and proceed directly to Kandy through lush landscapes and winding roads; on arrival visit the Elephant Orphanage to observe rescued elephants and learn about conservation, then continue to a Herbal and Spice Garden to discover Sri Lanka’s traditional herbs and spices, enjoy lunch in Kandy at a local restaurant, check in at your hotel and freshen up, and in the evening take a guided Kandy city tour around scenic Kandy Lake, local markets and colonial sites before attending the Kandy Cultural Show (starts at 5 PM) and returning for dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay in Kandy (Ceyloni Panorama or Hotel Ganthera or Hotel Gangaaddara or Oak Ray City Hotel).

Day 02: Kandy Gem Museum and Temple of the Tooth

After breakfast at the hotel visit the Gem Museum to learn about Sri Lanka’s gemstone heritage and then the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist shrine; depart Kandy for Nuwara Eliya via a scenic drive through misty hills and tea plantations, stop for lunch en route, tour a tea factory and estate to see the tea-making process and enjoy a fresh cup of Ceylon tea, admire Ramboda Falls, and in the evening visit Seetha Amman Temple before exploring Nuwara Eliya’s colonial charm and Gregory Lake, then return to your hotel for dinner. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya (Hotel Ashford or Oak Ray Summer Hill Breeze).

Day 03: Bentota Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery

After breakfast check out and travel from Nuwara Eliya to Bentota, start with a visit to the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery to learn about sea turtle conservation and see baby turtles up close, enjoy lunch in Bentota, take a scenic Madu River boat safari through mangroves to spot local wildlife, spend the evening relaxing on Bentota Beach, and finish the day with dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay in Bentota (Club Bentota Hotel or Laya Beach or Blue Beach).

Day 04: Colombo City Tour and Lotus Tower

After breakfast depart Bentota for Colombo and embark on a Colombo city sightseeing tour visiting vibrant neighborhoods and key landmarks, enjoy lunch in Colombo at a local restaurant, visit the Colombo Lotus Tower for panoramic city views (entry fee USD 20 per person as noted), and in the evening visit Gangaramaya Temple and Seema Malakaya before relaxing at your Colombo hotel and spending time shopping for handicrafts and souvenirs, then have dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay in Colombo (Berjaya Mount Royal or Grand Oriental Hotel).

Day 05: Katunayake Airport Departure Transfer

Have a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, complete final packing and check out, transfer from Colombo to Katunayake International Airport with assistance from our representative, check in for your flight and conclude the tour with fond memories of Sri Lanka.
