Day 01: Arrival in Malda Jami Masjid

Arrive at Malda Town railway station and meet our tour representative, then check in at your hotel and freshen up; in the afternoon drive to Old Malda, the river port on the Mahananda, to visit the Jami Masjid and the Nimasarai Tower and walk the old ghats as the light drops over the river, then return to the hotel for dinner and an early night. Overnight stay in Malda.

Day 02: Gour and Pandua Firoz Minar

After an early breakfast drive south to Gour, the ruined capital of Bengal’s sultans (about 15 km from Malda town), begin at Dakhil Darwaza, then walk to Firoz Minar and Baro Sona Masjid, continue on to Qadam Rasul, Lukochuri Darwaza, Chamkati Mosque and Gumti Gate and finish at Ramkeli associated with Sri Chaitanya’s visit; after lunch drive north to Pandua (about 20 km beyond town) to visit the vast Adina Mosque and the Eklakhi Mausoleum with its fine terracotta work, then return to Malda in the evening. Overnight stay in Malda.

Day 03: Transfer to Murshidabad Hazarduari Palace

After breakfast check out and drive to Murshidabad (approximately 110 km, around 3 hours), check in at your hotel and break for lunch, then in the afternoon visit the Hazarduari Palace—the Nawab’s 19th-century palace of a thousand doors now housing a museum of arms, paintings and royal furnishings—and walk along the Bhagirathi at dusk. Overnight stay in Murshidabad.

Day 04: Full Day in Murshidabad Imambara and Khushbagh

After breakfast visit the Imambara and the adjoining Madina Mosque, then Katra Mosque where Murshid Quli Khan is buried beneath its entrance steps; continue to Khushbagh garden cemetery holding the tombs of Nawab Alivardi Khan and Siraj-ud-Daulah and to Jafarganj Deuri, the ruined gateway of Mir Jafar’s residence; after lunch and a rest spend the late afternoon at Motijheel, the horseshoe shaped lake that once held the nawab’s household, with an optional boat ride on the Bhagirathi at sunset subject to season and water level. Overnight stay in Murshidabad.

Day 05: Murshidabad Morning Kathgola Garden

After a relaxed breakfast visit Kathgola Garden and its Jain temple, with an optional visit to a silk weaving centre (arranged in advance) to see Murshidabad silk being made and to buy directly; check out and transfer to the railway station for your onward journey to Kolkata or beyond, timed to your train.
