Day 1: Arrival in Coimbatore – Transfer to Masinagudi

Arrive in Coimbatore and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Masinagudi, driving northeast through Mettupalayam and Gudalur before descending into the dry deciduous forest belt around Bokkapuram. The drive takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours and the final approach through the Sigur corridor brings the forest right up to the road well before the resort. Check in at your jungle stay on the Masinagudi fringe by early afternoon. Spend the evening on a naturalist-led boundary walk around the resort perimeter, reading the forest edge as the light drops. The boundary between the resort and the forest is close enough that elephant, gaur and spotted deer are occasionally visible from the property in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in Masinagudi.

Day 2: Sigur Plateau, Bokkapuram and Moyar River

After an early breakfast, head out on a naturalist-led drive through the Sigur plateau, covering the Bokkapuram forest corridor and the grassland edges where the dry forest thins into open scrub. The Sigur plateau is the connecting tissue between Mudumalai, Nagarhole and Bandipur and the drive through it at ground level gives a sense of the scale and continuity of the Nilgiri Biosphere that no safari track inside any single reserve can replicate. Continue to Moyar River viewpoint, where the river runs along the base of the plateau edge and elephant, mugger crocodile and water birds are commonly seen along the margins. Spend the afternoon on a guided river walk along the Moyar edge before returning to the resort for the evening. Overnight stay in Masinagudi.

Day 3: Mudumalai Safari – Theppakadu – Departure to Coimbatore

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning jeep safari into Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, the forest tracks through the dry teak and bamboo belt offering the best conditions for sighting gaur, spotted deer, elephant and wild dog in the early hours. Return and visit Theppakadu Elephant Camp before checkout, where working elephants managed by the Forest Department have been part of this landscape for generations. Transfer back to Coimbatore via Gudalur and Mettupalayam for your departure.
