Day 1: Arrival in Indore – Transfer to Hanuwantiya

Arrive in Indore and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Drive to Hanuwantiya, approximately 140 km and around 3 hours by road via NH 47 through the Malwa plains toward the Indira Sagar reservoir. Check in at your tent or resort on the mainland shore, so there is no time pressure around a boat crossing today. Spend the afternoon at India’s largest water-adventure complex: jet ski, speed boat, banana boat, parasailing and, in season, the wider Jal Mahotsav activities. Settle in for the evening with a bonfire and dinner by the water. Overnight stay at Hanuwantiya.

Day 2: Hanuwantiya – Transfer to Sailani Island

After breakfast and any last activity or a sunrise cruise over the reservoir, check out and transfer to Sailani Island, approximately 90 km and around 2.5 hours by road along the reservoir toward Omkareshwar. This is the point where the trip changes character: the last stretch is by boat, as private vehicles cannot reach the resort, so you park at the mainland jetty and cross the backwater by the resort’s own boat, in daylight only. Check in at MPT Sailani Island Resort, the single property on this 5-acre island, over lunch on the APAI meal plan. The afternoon is deliberately unhurried, calm-water cruise, paddle boat, or the island’s walking trails as the light drops over the Narmada. Overnight stay at Sailani Island.

Day 3: Sailani Island – Omkareshwar – Indore Departure

After an early breakfast, check out and cross back to the mainland. Drive the short distance to Omkareshwar, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva, set on an Om-shaped island in the Narmada, roughly 5 km from Sailani. Take darshan at the Shri Omkar Mandhata temple and walk the riverfront ghats. From Omkareshwar, continue to Indore, approximately 80 km and around 2 hours, for your onward flight or train. Trip ends on arrival in Indore.
