Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun / Haridwar – Transfer to Rudraprayag

Arrive in Dehradun or Haridwar and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Rudraprayag, the town at the meeting of the Alaknanda and the Mandakini, roughly 140 km from Haridwar and 160 km from Dehradun, taking 5 to 6 hours along the Rishikesh-Devprayag-Srinagar road. Break the journey at Devprayag for the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi confluence, where the Ganga formally begins, and take a short halt at Srinagar. After checking in at your hotel, walk down to the Rudraprayag Sangam and the Rudranath Temple beside it, and end the day at the memorial marking the shooting of the Leopard of Rudraprayag by Jim Corbett in 1926. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 2: Rudraprayag – Sari – Deoria Tal – Chopta

After breakfast, drive towards Ukhimath, stopping at the Omkareshwar Temple, the winter seat of Kedarnath where the deity is housed from November to April. Continue to Sari village and walk the 2.5 km paved climb to Deoria Tal, a small lake at roughly 2,400 m that holds the Chaukhamba reflection on still mornings. Allow 1.5 hours up and an hour down. Descend to Sari, then drive on to Chopta through Dugalbitta, arriving by late afternoon. After checking in at your camp or lodge, walk the meadow above the road as the light drops. Overnight stay in Chopta.

Day 3: Tungnath and Chandrashila Trek

After an early breakfast, begin the trek to Tungnath, the highest of the Panch Kedar temples at roughly 3,680 m, on a paved but steadily steep 3.5 km path from Chopta. Allow 2 to 3 hours up depending on pace. Continue a further 1.5 km to Chandrashila summit at roughly 4,000 m for the arc of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Dome and Chaukhamba on a clear day. Descend to Chopta by afternoon, allowing 2 hours down. Spend the remaining light resting at the property or walking the rhododendron stretch below the road. Overnight stay in Chopta.

Day 4: Chopta – Dehradun / Haridwar Departure

Start with an early walk in the meadow for first light on the ranges, followed by breakfast and check out. Begin the descent by mid-morning, allowing the full day for the return. Depending on your schedule, stop at Rudraprayag Sangam and at Devprayag before continuing through Rishikesh, transferring to Dehradun airport or Haridwar railway station for your onward journey.
