Discover the spiritual confluences and serene Himalayan villages on the 3N/4D Rudraprayag & Saari Village Tour, a short yet immersive getaway in Rudraprayag. This curated 3N/4D Rudraprayag & Saari Village Tour blends temple visits, scenic drives, village walks, and the Deoria Tal trek, offering a perfect mix of culture, nature, and gentle adventure for all travelers.
Arrive in Dehradun or Haridwar and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Rudraprayag, the town at the meeting of the Alaknanda and the Mandakini, roughly 140 km from Haridwar and 160 km from Dehradun, taking 5 to 6 hours along the Rishikesh-Devprayag-Srinagar road. Break the journey at Devprayag for the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi confluence, where the Ganga formally begins, and take a short halt at Srinagar. After checking in at your hotel, walk down to the Rudraprayag Sangam and the Rudranath Temple beside it, and end the day at the memorial marking the shooting of the Leopard of Rudraprayag by Jim Corbett in 1926. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.
After breakfast, drive towards Ukhimath, stopping at Kund for the Mandakini bridge, and continue to the Omkareshwar Temple, the winter seat of Kedarnath where the deity is housed from November to April. Continue to Sari, a small Garhwali village at roughly 2,000 m made up largely of family-run homestays, arriving by early afternoon. After checking in, walk the village lanes and terraced fields, and take the short forest path above the settlement for the evening light. This is a deliberately light day: it puts you in the village rested and acclimatised for the morning climb. Overnight stay in Sari.
After an early breakfast, begin the 2.5 km paved climb to Deoria Tal, a lake at roughly 2,400 m held in a bowl of forest, which carries the Chaukhamba reflection on still mornings. Allow 1.5 hours up and an hour down. Walk the far shore, where the view opens out, before descending to Sari by late morning. In the afternoon, drive out along the Chopta road through Dugalbitta to the Chopta meadows at roughly 2,600 m, inside Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, for the bugyal grassland and the rhododendron stretch. Return to Sari by evening. Overnight stay in Sari.
Start with an early walk through the village and the surrounding forest for first light on the ranges, followed by breakfast and check out. Begin the descent by mid-morning, allowing the full day for the return. Depending on your schedule, stop at Rudraprayag Sangam and at Devprayag before continuing through Rishikesh, transferring to Dehradun airport or Haridwar railway station for your onward journey.
