Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun / Haridwar – Transfer to Chopta

Arrive in Dehradun or Haridwar and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Chopta, a high meadow settlement at roughly 2,600 m inside Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, surrounded by bugyal grassland and rhododendron forest. The drive covers roughly 200 km from Haridwar and 220 km from Dehradun, taking 8 to 9 hours along the Rishikesh-Devprayag-Srinagar-Rudraprayag road before the climb through Ukhimath and Dugalbitta. Plan a pre-dawn start and a lunch halt at Rudraprayag. Break the journey briefly at Devprayag for the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi confluence, where the Ganga formally begins. After checking in at your camp or lodge, walk the meadow above the road and settle in early. Overnight stay in Chopta.

Day 2: Tungnath and Chandrashila Trek

After an early breakfast, begin the trek to Tungnath, the highest of the Panch Kedar temples at roughly 3,680 m, on a paved but steadily steep 3.5 km path from Chopta. Allow 2 to 3 hours up depending on pace. Continue a further 1.5 km to Chandrashila summit at roughly 4,000 m for the arc of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Dome and Chaukhamba on a clear day. Descend to Chopta by afternoon, allowing 2 hours down, and rest. Those not trekking can walk the Deoria Tal approach from Sari village instead, a gentler 2.5 km climb to a lake that holds the Chaukhamba reflection on still mornings. Overnight stay in Chopta.

Day 3: Chopta – Dehradun / Haridwar Departure

Start with an early walk in the meadow for first light on the ranges, followed by breakfast and check out. Begin the descent by mid-morning, allowing the full day for the return. Depending on your schedule, stop at Ukhimath for the Omkareshwar Temple, the winter seat of Kedarnath, and at Rudraprayag for the Alaknanda and Mandakini confluence, before continuing through Devprayag and Rishikesh, transferring to Dehradun airport or Haridwar railway station for your onward journey.
