Day 1: Arrival at Purulia – Transfer to Ajodhya Hills

Arrive at Purulia railway station and meet our tour representative on the platform. Transfer to the Ajodhya plateau, climbing the ghat road through Bagmundi with the hills opening out on the ascent. After checking in at your resort, visit the Upper Dam and the Bamni Falls viewpoint, subject to water flow and access. End the day at the Mayur Pahar viewpoint for sunset over the plateau. Overnight stay in Ajodhya Hills.

Day 2: Ajodhya Hills Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit the Lower Dam and Turga Falls, subject to water flow, followed by the Marble Lake in its old quarry basin and Khairabera Lake with the hill paths around it. In the afternoon, visit the Charida mask-makers’ village, where Chhau masks are made by hand, and the Deulghata temple ruins if time allows. Return to the plateau for the evening. Overnight stay in Ajodhya Hills.

Day 3: Ajodhya Hills – Ghatshila

After breakfast, check out and drive to Ghatshila, a quiet river town on the Subarnarekha long associated with Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. Check in at your hotel or riverside resort. In the afternoon, visit the writer’s house at Dahigora, followed by Ratmohana and Phuldungri Hill. End the day at the riverside ghats, watching the sunset over the water. Overnight stay in Ghatshila.

Day 4: Ghatshila – Jhargram

Start early and drive to Dharagiri Falls for the walk down to the pool at its base, subject to water flow and access, followed by Burudih Lake and Galudih Barrage. Return for breakfast and check out, then drive to Jhargram through the sal forest belt. Check in at your resort or the Jhargram Rajbari. In the evening, visit the Jhargram Rajbari grounds and the town. Overnight stay in Jhargram.

Day 5: Jhargram Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit the Jhargram Zoological Park and the Kanak Durga Temple at Chilkigarh, set in its sacred grove beside the Dulung river. Continue to the Chilkigarh Rajbari ruins. In the afternoon, drive to Belpahari for Ghagra Falls, Khandarani Lake and the Kakrajhor forest stretch, subject to water flow and road condition. Return to Jhargram for the evening. Overnight stay in Jhargram.

Day 6: Jhargram – Bankura

After breakfast, check out and drive to Bankura, stopping at Bishnupur en route. Visit the terracotta temples: Rasmancha, the Jor Bangla temple, Shyam Rai and Madan Mohan, subject to Archaeological Survey timings. Continue to your hotel in Bankura or Bishnupur and check in. In the evening, visit the Bishnupur weavers’ quarter for Baluchari silk. Overnight stay in Bankura.

Day 7: Bankura Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit Susunia Hill for the rock inscription and the spring at its base, followed by the terracotta horse village at Panchmura, where Bankura’s horses are made on the wheel. In the afternoon, visit Mukutmanipur, where the Kangsabati and Kumari rivers meet behind the earthen dam, and spend time by the reservoir. Return for the evening. Overnight stay in Bankura.

Day 8: Bankura – Departure

After breakfast, check out and visit the remaining Bishnupur temples or the Acharya Jogesh Chandra Purakriti Bhavan museum if your departure time allows. Transfer to Bankura or Bishnupur railway station for your departure.
