Day 1: Mangalore Sightseeing

Spend the day exploring Mangalore before heading up the coast. Visit Kadri Manjunatha Temple, one of the oldest temples in the region, followed by Panambur Beach for water sports or a relaxed walk, and Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, a large biodiversity park with a lake, zoo and heritage village. St. Aloysius Chapel, known for its painted ceiling, is a good stop if time allows. Overnight stay in Mangalore.

Day 2: Mangalore – Udupi

Depart by road, approximately 60 to 65 km and 1 to 1.5 hours via NH66. Check in by early afternoon. Visit Sri Krishna Matha, founded by the 13th-century Vaishnavite saint Madhvacharya, along with the adjoining Anantheshwara Temple. In the evening, head to Malpe Beach for a walk along the shore and sunset over the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay in Udupi.

Day 3: St. Mary’s Island, Manipal and Kaup

After an early breakfast, take the ferry from Malpe harbour to St. Mary’s Island, known for its distinctive hexagonal basalt rock formations, seasonal and weather permitting. Return by late morning, then spend the afternoon in Manipal, visiting End Point and the Coin Museum. In the evening, visit Kaup Beach and its 1901 lighthouse. Overnight stay in Udupi.

Day 4: Udupi – Murudeshwar

After breakfast, check out and drive to Murudeshwar, about 98 km and 2 to 2.5 hours via NH66, with a photo stop en route at Maravanthe Beach. Check in by mid-afternoon, then visit Murudeshwar Temple and the Raja Gopura for a coastal view. Evening at Murudeshwar Beach. Overnight stay in Murudeshwar.

Day 5: Netrani Island – Murudeshwar to Honnavar

After breakfast, a boat excursion to Netrani Island, known for snorkeling and scuba diving, weather permitting. Return by late morning, check out, and drive to Honnavar, about 26 to 28 km away. Check in by early afternoon, then visit Apsarakonda, where a waterfall meets a beach known for its sunset views, and Kasarkod Beach nearby. Overnight stay in Honnavar.

Day 6: Honnavar – Gerusoppa – Gokarna

After breakfast, a boat trip out to Basavaraja Durga, a fortified island built during the Vijayanagar era, weather and tide permitting. Continue to Gerusoppa, about 34 km away, once the seat of the Chowta dynasty, for Gerusoppa Fort and Neelakanteshwara Temple, followed by a short forest walk to Chaturmukha Basadi, a 14th-century Jain temple. In the afternoon, check out and drive to Gokarna, about 50 to 60 km away. Check in by evening. Overnight stay in Gokarna.

Day 7: Gokarna Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit Mahabaleshwara Temple, home to the Atmalinga. Spend the rest of the day beach-hopping, Om Beach and Kudle Beach for a relaxed swim, Half Moon Beach and Paradise Beach by cliffside trek or boat. Evening at leisure by the water. Overnight stay in Gokarna.

Day 8: Gokarna – Mangalore Departure

After a relaxed breakfast, check out and depart on the return drive to Mangalore, approximately 230 km and 4.5 to 5 hours, arriving by evening.
