Day 1: Bangalore – Shivamogga

Depart Bangalore by road, approximately 275 to 290 km and 5.5 to 6 hours via NH48 through Tumkur and Chitradurga. Check in at your hotel in Shivamogga by mid-afternoon. Spend the rest of the day visiting Sakrebailu Elephant Camp on the banks of the Tunga river, followed by Gajanur Dam nearby and, if time allows, Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari. Overnight stay in Shivamogga.

Day 2: Jog Falls and Linganamakki Dam

After an early breakfast, drive to Jog Falls, about 100 km and 2 to 2.5 hours from Shivamogga, India’s second-highest plunge waterfall, where the Sharavathi river drops in four distinct falls. Visit Linganamakki Dam nearby, one of India’s major hydroelectric reservoirs and the source that regulates the falls’ flow. Return to Shivamogga by evening. Overnight stay in Shivamogga.

Day 3: Ikkeri, Keladi and Shettihalli

After breakfast, a shorter, closer loop today: visit Ikkeri, about 30 km away, home to the historic Aghoreshwara Temple, once the capital of the Keladi Nayakas, followed by Keladi itself, a further short drive, for the Rameshwara Temple. On the way back, stop at Shettihalli Rosary Church, a 19th-century church partially submerged by the Hemavathi backwaters, visible depending on the reservoir’s water level. Evening at leisure in Shivamogga. Overnight stay in Shivamogga.

Day 4: Shivamogga – Bangalore Departure

After breakfast, check out and depart on the return drive to Bangalore, arriving by early evening.
