Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun / Haridwar – Transfer to Sari Village

Arrive in Dehradun or Haridwar and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Sari, a small Garhwali village at roughly 2,000 m in the Ukhimath belt, best known as the trailhead for Deoria Tal and largely made up of homestays rather than hotels. The drive covers roughly 190 km from Haridwar and 210 km from Dehradun, taking 7.5 to 8.5 hours along the Rishikesh-Devprayag-Srinagar-Rudraprayag road before the climb through Kund and Ukhimath. Plan a pre-dawn start and a lunch halt at Rudraprayag. Break the journey briefly at Devprayag for the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi confluence, where the Ganga formally begins. After checking in at your homestay, walk the village lanes and terraced fields, and settle in early. Overnight stay in Sari.

Day 2: Deoria Tal and Ukhimath

After an early breakfast, begin the 2.5 km paved climb to Deoria Tal, a lake at roughly 2,400 m held in a bowl of forest, which carries the Chaukhamba reflection on still mornings. Allow 1.5 hours up and an hour down. Spend time walking the far shore, where the view opens out, before descending to Sari by late morning. In the afternoon, drive to Ukhimath for the Omkareshwar Temple, the winter seat of Kedarnath where the deity is housed from November to April, and continue to Kund for the Mandakini bridge. Return via the Chopta road as far as Dugalbitta for the deodar stretch and the evening light, then back to Sari. Overnight stay in Sari.

Day 3: Sari – Dehradun / Haridwar Departure

Start with an early walk through the village and the surrounding forest for first light on the ranges, followed by breakfast and check out. Begin the descent by mid-morning, allowing the full day for the return. Depending on your schedule, stop at Rudraprayag for the Alaknanda and Mandakini confluence and the Jim Corbett leopard memorial, and at Devprayag, before continuing through Rishikesh and transferring to Dehradun airport or Haridwar railway station for your onward journey.
