Day 1: Arrival in Bhubaneswar – Transfer to Rambha – Sunset on the Lagoon

Arrive in Bhubaneswar and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Rambha at the southern end of Chilika Lake, roughly 120 to 130 km and around 3 hours by road via NH16, through the Ganjam countryside with the Eastern Ghats rising to the west. Check in at the OTDC Panthanivas or a lakeside resort. Rambha is the quietest and most scenic of Chilika’s hubs, ringed by low hills and islands, and the late afternoon is its best hour — settle in and take in the sunset over the water, backed by the Ghats. Overnight stay in Rambha.

Day 2: Rambha Island Boat Cruise – Kalijai, Breakfast and Honeymoon Islands

The full lake day. Set out by boat across the southern lagoon, calling at the cluster of islands that make Rambha distinctive — Breakfast Island (Barkuda) with its colonial ruins and greenery, Honeymoon Island, and the smaller sanctuary islets, with a stop at Kalijai Island and its temple to the presiding deity of Chilika. The open lagoon here is broad and calm, and in winter the water and fringes carry resident and migratory birds. This is a scenic, unhurried island cruise rather than a wildlife chase. Return by late afternoon for another quiet evening on the water. Overnight stay in Rambha.

Day 3: Morning at Leisure – Bhubaneswar Departure

A slow morning by the lake — a short walk, a final look at the islands, or a visit to the nearby Ghat viewpoints — before breakfast. Check out and transfer back to Bhubaneswar, around 120 to 130 km and 3 hours by road, in time for your onward journey. Overnight journey onward.
