Day 1: Arrival in Mumbai – Transfer to Matheran

Arrive in Mumbai or Pune and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer by road to Dasturi Naka, the vehicle point below Matheran. Matheran is a vehicle-free hill station, so the final stretch to the town is covered on foot, by horse, or by hand-pulled trolley, roughly 2.5 km. Luggage is carried by porters. After checking in at your hotel, walk to Charlotte Lake and the Pisarnath Temple beside it. End the day at Porcupine Point, also called Sunset Point, for the drop into the valley at last light. Overnight stay in Matheran.

Day 2: The Viewpoint Circuit

After breakfast, begin the main circuit on foot or on horseback. Walk the eastern side for Panorama Point, which looks out over the Neral valley and the toy train line, then continue to Hart Point and Monkey Point. Return to the town for lunch on the Market Road. In the afternoon, take the western trails to Echo Point, Louisa Point, which faces the Prabalgad and Vishalgad ridges, and One Tree Hill. Matheran has over thirty named viewpoints and no traveller sees them all; the circuit above covers the strongest. Overnight stay in Matheran.

Day 3: Matheran – Mumbai Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Walk or ride back to Dasturi Naka, or take the toy train down to Neral if it is running and seats are available. Transfer back to Mumbai or Pune for your onward journey.
