Day 1: Bangalore – Hogenakkal

Spend the rest of the day at the falls themselves, a coracle ride through the rock gorge where the Kaveri splits into its smoky cascades, a traditional oil massage by a local practitioner on the riverbank, and fresh fish fry at one of the riverside stalls. Overnight stay in Hogenakkal.

Day 2: Melagiri Hills and Wildlife

After breakfast, a trek into the Melagiri Hills, about 33 km away, where the Eastern and Western Ghats converge, with good chances of spotting antelope in the valleys below. In the afternoon, visit the Crocodile Rehabilitation Centre near the falls, or, for those interested, the fringes of Cauvery North Wildlife Sanctuary nearby. Overnight stay in Hogenakkal.

Day 3: Theerthamalai and Pennagaram – Bangalore Departure

After breakfast, visit Theerthamalai, known for its temples, and Pennagaram village, known for its distinctive large-scale terracotta craft. Check out and depart on the return drive to Bangalore, arriving by evening.
