Day 1: Arrival in Koraput – Transfer to Deomali

Arrive in Koraput and meet our tour representative at the railway station. Transfer to Deomali, Odisha’s highest peak at 1,672 metres, roughly 60 to 70 km and around 2 hours by road via Semiliguda and Kunduli, with the final 20 km climbing through increasingly lush, undulating green country as the road winds up into the Chandragiri-Pottangi range. Check in at the Deomali Nature Camp on the hilltop. Spend the evening at altitude, in cool mountain air rare anywhere else in Odisha, watching the light fade over layer upon layer of Eastern Ghats ridgelines. Overnight stay at Deomali.

Day 2: Sunrise Above the Clouds – Waterfall Trek and the Summit

An early start, ideally before dawn, for Deomali’s signature experience: standing at the summit edge as the first light breaks through mist and the Eastern Ghats emerge from a sea of cloud below – widely described as the single best reason to make this trip. Spend the morning exploring the hilltop viewpoints and the surrounding tribal-village country at the mountain’s foothills, part of the Kotia Panchayat area. In the afternoon, trek to the nearby Deomali Waterfall through forest and undulating terrain; the path is genuinely rewarding but can turn slippery on the return, so pace and footwear matter more here than at most of the region’s other waterfall walks. Overnight stay at Deomali.

Day 3: Deomali – Koraput Departure

A final quiet morning at the hilltop camp – an optional second look at the summit view or a slower walk through the surrounding country – before breakfast. Check out and transfer back to Koraput, roughly 60 to 70 km and around 2 hours by road, in time for your onward train. Overnight journey onward.
