Day 1: Arrival at NJP or Bagdogra – Mall Road Food Walk

Meet our tour representative at New Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra airport and drive to Darjeeling, approximately 90 km and around 3.5 hours by road. Break the journey for a simple roadside tea and snack. Check in at your hotel and rest. In the late afternoon, begin a guided walk from Chowrasta along the Mall Road, with a stop for tea and baked goods at one of the town’s old colonial-era bakeries and cafes, such as Glenary’s, then a plate of steamed momos at a local eatery. Dinner is a home-style Nepali thali of dal, rice, vegetables, pickles and local greens. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Day 2: Market, Tea Tasting, Momo Class and Tibetan Dinner

An optional pre-dawn drive to Tiger Hill for sunrise over the Kanchenjunga range, weather permitting, for those who want it. Breakfast at a heritage cafe, with a classic English-style breakfast or local alternatives such as sel roti. Mid-morning, walk through Chowk Bazaar, the local market, to see fresh produce, dried mushrooms and local greens, churpi (hard cheese), pickles and spices, with a guide to explain what each is used for.
After lunch, visit a tea estate near Darjeeling for a tasting of different teas and an explanation of how the flushes differ. In the late afternoon, join a local family or cook for a hands-on momo-making session, folding and steaming your own, then eat what you make. Dinner at a Tibetan restaurant with thukpa, phagshapa and butter tea. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Day 3: Last Tastes and Departure

After a relaxed breakfast, visit a tea merchant and a local shop to buy tea, churpi, pickles and spices to take home, with guidance on what travels well. Check out and drive down to New Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra airport, timed to your train or flight and allowing around 3.5 hours for the drive.
