Embark on a spiritual escape with 2N/3D Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Darshan, exploring the sacred hill shrine, forested trails, and serene temple tanks around Bhimashankar. This carefully crafted 2N/3D Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Darshan offers darshan at the revered jyotirlinga, visits to nearby kshetras, and nature walks through the wildlife sanctuary.
Arrive in Mumbai or Pune and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Bhimashankar in the Sahyadri hills of Pune district, roughly 210 km from Mumbai and 110 km from Pune, where the Bhima river rises. The final stretch climbs through forest on a narrow road. After checking in at your hotel, take darshan at the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple, a Nagara-style stone temple in the hollow below the ridge, reached by a flight of steps down from the road. Visit the Mokshakund and Sarvatirtha kunds beside it. End the day at Hanuman Lake on the edge of the sanctuary. Overnight stay in Bhimashankar.
An early start for Gupt Bhimashankar, a short forest walk from the temple to the point where the Bhima emerges from the rock. Continue to Nagphani, also called Duke’s Nose, the highest point on this section of the ridge, reached by a walking trail of roughly an hour and a half from the temple area, with the Konkan plain dropping away on the far side. Return for lunch. In the afternoon, walk one of the marked nature trails within the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary with a local guide. The sanctuary was declared to protect the Indian giant squirrel, or shekru, the state animal of Maharashtra, and sightings are possible in the canopy though never assured. Overnight stay in Bhimashankar.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Take a final darshan, or stop at the Sakshi Vinayak temple on the approach path, depending on your departure time. Transfer back to Mumbai or Pune for your onward journey, with a stop at the Shivneri Fort or the Lenyadri Caves near Junnar if you are routing towards Pune.
