Day 1: Arrival in Coimbatore – Transfer to Aruvankadu

Arrive in Coimbatore and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Transfer to Aruvankadu, driving northeast through Mettupalayam and climbing the Nilgiri ghat road via Coonoor before continuing along the upper plateau road through Wellington cantonment. The drive takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours and the final stretch through the tea estates and eucalyptus lines between Coonoor and Aruvankadu sets the tone for the stay. Aruvankadu sits quietly between Coonoor and Ooty on the Nilgiri plateau, its cantonment character largely intact and its pace entirely removed from both hill towns. Check in at your stay by early afternoon. Spend the evening walking the cantonment road and the tea estate perimeter as the plateau light drops. Overnight stay in Aruvankadu.

Day 2: Coonoor, Lamb’s Rock and Wellington

After breakfast, drive to Coonoor and spend the morning at Sim’s Park, a well-maintained botanical garden on the Coonoor hillside, and Lamb’s Rock, a projecting cliff above the Coonoor valley with open views across the tea slopes and the plains below. Continue to Dolphin’s Nose viewpoint above the Coonoor escarpment, a broader and more open viewpoint than its Kodaikanal namesake, with the Law’s Falls visible in the valley below. In the afternoon, drive through Wellington cantonment, one of the oldest and best-preserved military cantonments in South India, home to the Madras Regimental Centre and a colonial layout that has changed little since the nineteenth century. Return to Aruvankadu for the evening. Overnight stay in Aruvankadu.

Day 3: Ketti Valley – Ooty Fringe – Departure to Coimbatore

Start early with Ketti Valley View Point, one of the widest and most open views across the Nilgiri plateau, where the valley floor drops sharply below the road and the cultivated patchwork of the Ketti basin is visible in full. Continue to the Ooty fringe for a brief drive through the Wenlock Downs grassland and the Stone House area before returning via the tea estate roads through Aruvankadu. After breakfast and check out, transfer back to Coimbatore via the Coonoor ghat road for your departure.
