Day 01: Arrival in Almaty and Hotel Check In

Welcome to Almaty City of a thousand colours. After clearing customs and immigration and collecting your baggage you will meet your English speaking guide in the arrival hall and be escorted to your vehicle where chocolates and refreshing napkins will be served and complimentary Wi Fi is available onboard; please ask your guide for login details. You will be transferred to your hotel for check in and time to relax before dinner at your choice of restaurant on own. Hotel drop off and overnight stay in Almaty.

Day 02: Shymbulak Ski Resort and Panfilov Promenade

After breakfast at the hotel you will visit the Shymbulak Ski Resort via the three tier Gondola which in about an hour takes you from Almaty city centre to elevations up to 3200 metres where you can enjoy the highest bar in the CIS, cafes, an observation deck with rotating binoculars, a playground and optional mountain activities such as zip lining, paragliding and horse riding. Enjoy lunch at Shymbulak or a restaurant in the city on your own and return to the hotel for relaxation. In the evening take a walk along the Panfilov promenade overlooking the Kazakh Opera and Ballet Theatre with local musicians and street entertainers, ending on Arbat street for shopping and street entertainment, followed by dinner on your own. Hotel drop off and overnight stay in Almaty.

Day 03: Almaty City Tour and KokTobe Hill

After breakfast proceed on an Almaty city tour visiting major sights including First President Park, Republic Square, the State Opera and Ballet Theatre, museums at the Academy of Sciences, Abay Square, Kazakhstan Hotel and the Palace of the Republic. Later visit Panfilov Park to see the Panfilov Heroes memorial and the architecturally remarkable Zenkov Cathedral in the green park. After lunch on your own return to the hotel to relax, then take the cable car to KokTobe Hill for panoramic city views, the prominent TV tower and top hill attractions and restaurants. Dinner at your choice of restaurant on your own. Hotel drop off and overnight stay in Almaty.

Day 04: Green Bazaar and Shopping at Malls

After breakfast visit the Zelyony Bazaar Green Market near Panfilov Park to experience colourful local shopping from fresh produce to spices and local goods where bargaining is common, then stop at the Rakhat Chocolate Shop to see one of Kazakhstan’s oldest chocolate manufacturers. Enjoy lunch at an Indian restaurant on your own and spend the afternoon shopping at Almaty’s top malls such as Dostyk Plaza, Esentai Mall and Mega Mall. Dinner on your own followed by hotel drop off and overnight stay in Almaty.

Day 05: Departure from Almaty and Airport Transfer

An early morning packed breakfast will be provided before check out; your driver will pick you up from the hotel at around 0430 hours to transfer you to the airport for your flight home or onward destination.
