Day 1: Arrival in Balasore – Transfer to Kuldiha – Evening Safari

Arrive in Balasore and meet our tour representative at the railway station. From here it is a short transfer to Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary, roughly 30 km and around an hour by road through Nilagiri and the reserved-forest belt. Stop at the forest range office or the Balianal check gate to arrange the day entry permit before proceeding to your accommodation inside or at the edge of the sanctuary. After settling in, head out for the afternoon safari, which runs roughly between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm, moving along the forest tracks through dense Sal and mixed deciduous cover as the light drops. Kuldiha is one of the few sanctuaries in India where visitors travel through the forest in their own vehicle with a forest guide, rather than in a shared jeep. Return for a quiet dinner in the forest. Overnight stay in Kuldiha.

Day 2: Kuldiha – Morning Safari, Salt Lick and Forest Interior

Start early with the morning safari, roughly 5:00 am to 7:00 am, the better window for movement near the water bodies and salt-lick points where herbivores and, on lucky mornings, elephants gather. After breakfast, spend the middle of the day exploring the forest interior on foot with the guide where permitted, or resting through the heat. Kuldiha is a birding forest first and a big-mammal forest second, with well over 250 recorded species, so the quieter daytime hours reward anyone with binoculars and patience. Head out again for the afternoon safari around 4:00 pm, timed for the last active hours before the gate closes. Overnight stay in Kuldiha.

Day 3: Kuldiha – Panchalingeswar – Balasore Departure

An optional dawn safari is available for guests wanting one more drive before leaving. After breakfast, check out and drive to the Panchalingeswar temple at the foot of the Nilagiri hills, about 12 km away, a short climb to a hill shrine set beside a natural stream. From here, transfer back to Balasore, around 40 km and roughly 1.5 hours by road, in time for your onward train. Overnight journey onward.
