Day 1: Arrival in Khajuraho – Western & Eastern Temples

Arrive in Khajuraho and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Khajuraho is the practical base for this trip: it has the flights, the hotels and the anchor sights, while Dhubela, the heritage the tour is built around, sits about an hour away and works best as a focused day trip rather than an overnight base. Check in at your hotel, then spend the day at the Western Group of Temples, the UNESCO World Heritage cluster of Kandariya Mahadeva, Lakshmana and Devi Jagadambi, followed by the quieter Eastern Group, including the Jain temples. End the day with the sound-and-light show at the Western Group, which sets the Chandela history in context. Overnight stay in Khajuraho.

Day 2: Khajuraho – Dhubela Day Trip

After breakfast, drive to Dhubela, approximately 60 to 65 km and around 1.5 hours by road on the Chhatarpur highway. This is the heart of the tour. Spend the morning at the Maharaja Chhatrasal Museum, Madhya Pradesh’s first museum, housed in Chhatrasal’s palace-fort on the banks of Dhubela Lake, with eight galleries of Gupta, Kalchuri and Bundela sculpture, inscriptions, arms and paintings. Walk the surrounding site: the lakeside chhatris, the Maharani Kamlapati cenotaph, Sheetal Garhi and the ruins that tell the Bundela story, this is also the land associated with Chhatrasal and Mastani. Return to Khajuraho in the afternoon, with time to revisit a temple at golden hour or explore the local market. Overnight stay in Khajuraho.

Day 3: Khajuraho – Departure

After breakfast, check out. Depending on your onward plans and season, either take a short excursion, Panna National Park or the Raneh Falls and Ken Gharial Sanctuary lie within easy reach, or transfer directly to the airport or railway station for your onward journey. Trip ends on departure.
