Day 1: Mangalore – Maravanthe

Depart Mangalore by road, approximately 110 to 115 km and 2 to 2.5 hours via NH66. Check in at your beachfront resort by early afternoon. Spend the evening at Maravanthe Beach, the striking stretch where the highway runs narrow between the Arabian Sea and the Souparnika river, best appreciated at sunset. Overnight stay in Maravanthe.

Day 2: Maravanthe – Thirthahalli

After breakfast, check out and drive to Thirthahalli, approximately 110 to 120 km and 2.5 to 3 hours via NH169A through the Agumbe stretch. Check in by early afternoon, then visit Sri Rameshwara Temple and spend the evening by the Tunga river, which runs through the heart of this small market town. Overnight stay in Thirthahalli.

Day 3: Kavaledurga Fort and Kuppali

After breakfast, drive to Kavaledurga Fort, about 16 to 19 km away, a 9th-century hill fort and the last capital of the Keladi kingdom, with a trek of roughly 5 km to the summit. In the afternoon, visit Kuppali, the ancestral home of the Kannada poet Kuvempu, now preserved as a memorial and museum. Overnight stay in Thirthahalli.

Day 4: Thirthahalli – Lakkavalli

After breakfast, check out and drive to Lakkavalli, approximately 90 to 100 km and 2.5 to 3 hours, on the banks of the Bhadra reservoir. Check in by early afternoon, then a boat trip on the Bhadra backwaters or a quiet walk near the dam. Overnight stay in Lakkavalli.

Day 5: Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary Safari

Early start for a jeep safari at Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary from the Lakkavalli side, a tiger reserve set across the Western Ghats, timed for the morning slot when wildlife activity is highest. Return by late morning, with the afternoon free at leisure by the reservoir or a visit to the Bhadra Dam viewpoint. Overnight stay in Lakkavalli.
