Day 1: Mangalore – Dandeli

Depart Mangalore early morning by road, approximately 350 to 360 km and around 7 hours via NH66 and NH52 through Ankola, Yellapur and Haliyal. Check in at your riverside or forest resort by evening. Evening at leisure, settling in after a long travel day. Overnight stay in Dandeli.

Day 2: White Water Rafting and Wildlife Sanctuary

After breakfast, white water rafting on the Kali River, a 9 km stretch of Grade II and III rapids suitable for first-timers, run by certified local operators. In the afternoon, a jungle safari or nature walk through Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, home to hornbills, kingfishers and a range of forest wildlife. Overnight stay in Dandeli.

Day 3: Kulgi Nature Camp and Magod or Sathodi Falls

After breakfast, visit Kulgi Nature Camp and the Old Magazine House, known for birding and occasional bison sightings, with an optional canopy zip-line for those who want it, weather and operator availability permitting. In the afternoon, drive to Magod Falls or Sathodi Falls, about 40 to 50 km away near Yellapur, both set in dense forest and best appreciated with a short walk from the road. Overnight stay in Dandeli.

Day 4: Syntheri Rocks, Kavala Caves and Dandeli – Gokarna

After breakfast, visit Syntheri Rocks, a striking cliff formation on the Kaneri river, followed by Kavala Caves, known for a natural Shivling formation within the limestone cave, and Sykes Point for a panoramic forest view. Late morning, check out and drive to Gokarna, about 130 to 150 km and 3 to 3.5 hours via Yellapur and Ankola, with a stop at Yana Caves along the way. Check in at Gokarna by evening. Overnight stay in Gokarna.

Day 5: Gokarna Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit Mahabaleshwara Temple, home to the Atmalinga. Spend the rest of the day beach-hopping, Om Beach and Kudle Beach for a relaxed swim, Half Moon Beach and Paradise Beach by cliffside trek or boat. Evening at leisure by the water. Overnight stay in Gokarna.

Day 6: Gokarna – Mangalore Departure

After a relaxed breakfast, check out and depart on the return drive to Mangalore, approximately 230 km and 4.5 to 5 hours via NH66, arriving by evening.
