Day 1: Bangalore – Hampi

Depart Bangalore early morning by road, approximately 340 km and 6.5 to 7 hours via NH48 and NH50 through Chitradurga. Check in at your hotel on the Hampi Bazaar side by early afternoon. After lunch, visit Virupaksha Temple, the region’s oldest continuously functioning temple, followed by a walk up Hemakuta Hill for a wide view over the boulder landscape. Close the day with sunset from Matanga Hill, a short but steep climb directly behind the bazaar. Overnight stay in Hampi.

Day 2: Hampi Sightseeing

After breakfast, drive to the Royal Enclosure zone, covering the Elephant Stables, Lotus Mahal, Queen’s Bath, and the Underground Shiva Temple, followed by Hazara Rama Temple. In the afternoon, visit Vittala Temple, home to the stone chariot and the pillared mandapa. Evening at leisure, with an optional coracle ride across the Tungabhadra toward Anegundi, water levels permitting. Overnight stay in Hampi.

Day 3: Hampi – Badami

After breakfast, check out and drive to Badami, approximately 140 km and 3.5 hours via NH167. Check in by early afternoon, then spend the rest of the day at Badami Cave Temples, the four rock-cut sanctuaries carved into the sandstone cliff above Agastya Lake, followed by the Bhutanatha Temple group on the lake’s edge. Overnight stay in Badami.

Day 4: Badami – Pattadakal – Aihole – Badami

After an early breakfast, drive to Pattadakal, about 22 km, a UNESCO World Heritage cluster of 7th and 8th century temples marking the transition point of Chalukya temple architecture. Continue to Aihole, a further 14 km, known as the cradle of Hindu temple architecture with over a hundred temples in and around the village, the Durga Temple chief among them. Return to Badami by evening, with the Mahakuta group of temples available as a stop on the way back for travellers with time and interest. Overnight stay in Badami.

Day 5: Badami – Hubli Drop

After breakfast, check out and drive to Hubli, approximately 100 to 110 km and around 2 to 2.5 hours by road. Drop-off at Hubli airport or railway station for your onward flight or train.

Day 5: Badami – Bangalore Departure

After breakfast, check out and depart on the return drive to Bangalore, approximately 450 km, arriving by evening depending on route and traffic.
