Day 1: Arrival in Haldwani / Kathgodam – Transfer to Jeolikote

Arrive in Haldwani or Kathgodam and meet our tour representative at the railway station or bus stand. Transfer to Jeolikote, the first hill settlement on the climb to Nainital, known for its butterfly population, birdlife and terraced gardens. The drive takes roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour and gains height quickly along the Kathgodam-Nainital road. After checking in at your hotel, visit the Jeolikote Butterfly Research Centre, then walk the old road stretch through the village where colonial-era bungalows and orchards sit above the valley. End the day at a roadside viewpoint looking back over the Bhabar plains. Overnight stay in Jeolikote.

Day 2: Jeolikote and Lake District Sightseeing

After breakfast, drive up to Nainital for Naini Lake and a boat ride, followed by Naina Devi Temple and a walk along the Mall Road. Continue to Snow View Point by ropeway for the Nanda Devi and Trishul range on a clear day. In the afternoon, head towards Sattal for its interlinked lakes and birding trails, then return through Bhimtal for the lake island and the Bhimtal Aquarium. Return to Jeolikote for a quiet evening. Overnight stay in Jeolikote.

Day 3: Jeolikote – Haldwani / Kathgodam Departure

Start with an early birding walk on the trails around Jeolikote, one of the more reliable low-altitude birding stretches in the Kumaon foothills, followed by a visit to the Golu Devta Temple at Ghorakhal on the Bhowali road. Return to the hotel for breakfast, check out, and descend towards the plains. Depending on your departure time, stop at the Bhowali fruit market for local produce and preserves before transferring to Kathgodam railway station or Haldwani for your onward journey.
