Upon arrival at Leh Airport, travelers will be greeted by a representative and transferred to a hotel in the heart of Leh Town. The first day is reserved for rest and acclimatization to the high altitude of Ladakh. During the day or evening, travelers will meet the representative who will provide an introduction to the highlights of the entire tour. In the evening, there will be an opportunity to take a walk to the local market and visit Shanti Stupa on the hill for a panoramic view of Leh Town. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
After breakfast, travelers will drive towards the western part of Ladakh along the Indus River on the Leh-Srinagar highway for sightseeing. The first stop will be at the Hall of Fame, a museum founded by the Indian Army, which is a must-visit for every Indian. The journey continues to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, founded in the 15th century and nestled deep in the Himalayas. The next stop is Magnetic Hill, which defies the law of gravity, followed by a drive through picturesque landscapes to visit Sangam, the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. After visiting these places, travelers will return to Leh. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
After breakfast, travelers will drive towards Nubra Valley, crossing Khardung-la, the second-highest motorable road in the world at an altitude of 5602 meters (18390 feet). After descending from the pass, Nubra Valley, also known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers, will be reached. It is situated north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Upon arrival at Hunder, travelers will check in at the hotel or camps. In the afternoon, they will visit Deskit Monastery and the Sand Dunes, where they can enjoy a short camel safari on double-humped Bactrian camels (optional, on direct payment). After breakfast, travelers will drive to Turtuk village, which lies 80 km away from Hunder. They will visit Thang (LOC) border for a view of Pakistan. Turtuk is one of the northernmost villages in India; it was under Pakistan’s control until 1971. The residents of Turtuk and its adjoining villages speak Balti language along with Ladakhi and Urdu. Turtuk is known for its varieties of fruits, especially apricot. Travelers will return to Hunder by evening. Overnight stay at Hotel in Hunder.
After breakfast, travelers will leave for Pangong Lake via Shayok. Along the route, they will enjoy scenic views of the Shayok River and Karakoram Range. This route has a few water crossings mainly in June and July, so early departure from Nubra is advisable to avoid these. Travelers will reach Pangong Lake by the afternoon. The lake is the world’s highest saltwater lake, situated at an elevation of 4,225 meters, and extends almost 130 kilometers long, with one-third of it lying in India and two-thirds in China. Travelers will check in at a camp or hotel in Pangong. Overnight stay at Hotel/Camp in Pangong Lake.
NOTE: This route depends on weather conditions. If the route is blocked, travelers will return to Leh and stay overnight. The next day’s visit to Pangong Lake will be a one-day trip.
After breakfast, travelers will leave for Leh, crossing Chang La Pass, another one of the highest motorable roads in the world at an elevation of 5360 meters. On the way, they will visit Shey Palace, Rancho School, and Thiksey Monastery. Travelers will reach Leh by the afternoon or evening and check in at the hotel. The evening is at leisure, allowing for exploration of the Leh market. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
