Day 01: Srinagar Arrival & Gardens

Upon arrival in Srinagar via flight, you will be greeted by a Kailash Expeditions representative and transferred to your houseboat or hotel. Your exploration of paradise begins with a half-day tour of the world-famous Mughal Gardens, including Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love), all built during the Mughal reign in Kashmir. A hot lunch will be served at the houseboat. In the afternoon, enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake, immersing yourself in the scenic beauty of the mountains surrounding the lake. Overnight stay in Houseboat.

Day 02: Scenic Drive to Kargil

After an early morning tea and a delicious breakfast, you’ll embark on a journey to Kargil, driving through panoramic villages to reach Sonmarg (2740 mtrs), passing by lush green fields. After Sonmarg, the road becomes rougher and wetter as you approach Zojila Pass (3527 mtrs), the Gateway of Ladakh, often covered in snow. The drive continues towards Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world, where you’ll stop for refreshments and passport checks. The final few hours of the drive will lead you to Kargil (2710 mtrs). Overnight stay in Kargil Hotel.

Day 03: Leh’s Stark Beauty Awaits

Embark on a full-day drive from the green valleys of Kargil to the barren, stark mountains of Ladakh. Ascend several passes and encounter the first Buddhist village, Mulbek, home to the giant statue of Matreya Buddha. Cross Fotula Pass (4166 mtrs), and reach Lamayuru village for lunch. Visit the Lamayuru Monastery, the oldest in Ladakh, before continuing through the lower valleys of Ladakh (Shyam), passing villages like Basgo and Nimu, where you can see the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus rivers, and eventually arrive in Leh (3500 mtrs). Overnight stay in Leh Hotel.

Day 04: Khardungla to Nubra Valley

After an early breakfast, travel to the captivating Nubra Valley via Khardungla, the highest motorable road in the world at 18,380 ft, navigating the zig-zag trail to Hundar village. Upon arrival, check in to Nature’s Nest North Camp. Spend the afternoon appreciating the beauty of the sand dunes and riding double-humped camels. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley Camp or Hotel.

Day 05: Turtuk Village Exploration

In the early morning, drive to the village of Turtuk. Experience the exotic village as you traverse the landscape. Turtuk is located approximately 115 kms from Nubra Valley, and the journey can take about 3 to 4 hours. Turtuk has a population of around 4000 people, the majority of whom follow Islam. Walk around the village and interact with the locals. Return to Hunder village in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley Camp or Hotel.

Day 06: Nubra to Pangong via Shyok

Wake up early and visit Diskit Monastery for a wonderful view of Nubra Valley. Following that, drive to Pangong Lake via Shyok. Take in the breathtaking turquoise lake and the surrounding mountains and landscapes. Visit well-known photography spots, such as the “3 Idiots” shooting location. Overnight stay in Pangong Camp.

Day 07: Pangong Leisure & Return

After a late breakfast, stroll around the lake and experience nature’s serenity. Later, drive back to Leh, stopping to see Thiksay Monastery and Shey Palace if not already visited. Overnight stay in Leh Hotel.

Day 08: Leh Departure to Delhi

Transfer to Kushok Bakula Airport, only 10 minutes from the city center. Check-in for your flight to Delhi, carrying cherished memories of Kashmir and Ladakh with you.
