Welcome to Korea! Upon arrival in Seoul on Sunday, April 20, 2025, you’ll be transferred to your hotel and have some free time to settle in. In the afternoon, you’ll receive information about the start of your tour. Overnight stay in Seoul.
We’ll depart early on Monday, April 21, 2025, for the Cheorwon region and its section of the DMZ, exploring the Second Tunnel secretly dug by the North Korean army. We’ll visit the Cheorwon Peace Observatory, offering panoramic views of the DMZ and North Korean villages. Inside, there’s a small museum dedicated to the Korean War. Our route continues with a visit to the abandoned Woljeong-ri railway station and the Baek Ma Battle Memorial, honoring the French UN battalion’s role. A lunch will be included. We’ll then visit a local producer of Makgeolli. In the evening, we’ll return to Seoul and with our guide, we’ll go to City Hall to see the tsunami-looking building. Across from City Hall, we’ll see Deoksugung Palace, beautifully lit at night. From there, we’ll walk to the Myeongdong district. Dinner will be included at a local restaurant. To return to hotel we’ll take the modern and efficient metro. Overnight stay in Seoul.
Today, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, we’ll enjoy a five-hour tour of Seoul. We’ll see the Changdeokgung Palace, a UNESCO site, within a large park. We’ll pass by Bukchon Hanok Village, a historic neighborhood. Next, we’ll visit the War Memorial of Korea, providing insight into Korea’s conflicts, particularly the Korean War. Lunch will be included at a local restaurant. We’ll head to the Gangnam District and conclude the day at Lotte World Tower, with free time to go up the tower or explore the park and shopping malls. Overnight stay in Seoul.
On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, we’ll visit Gyeongbokgung Palace, and witness the changing of the guard (if scheduled). Afterward, we depart Seoul heading south to Suwon, the former capital. We’ll see the UNESCO World Heritage walls and visit Hwaseong Haenggung, the summer palace. Lunch will be included. We’ll continue to Jeonju, discovering its historic Hanok Village. Overnight stay in Jeonju.
Today, Thursday, April 24, 2025, we’ll depart for Sunchang Gochujang Village, learning how to make gochujang. Afterwards, we continue to Damyang to visit the Juknokwon Bamboo Forest and the Bamboo Museum. Lunch will be included, tasting rice cooked in bamboo. Surrounded by mountain landscapes, we’ll arrive at Haeinsa, a UNESCO site and Buddhist temple housing the Tripitaka Koreana. We’ll then continue to Busan. Overnight stay in Busan.
On Friday, April 25, 2025, we’ll visit Haedong Yonggung, a Buddhist temple by the sea. We’ll return to Busan to explore the UN Memorial Cemetery. Next, we’ll visit the largest fish market, followed by lunch. We’ll stroll to Yongdusan Park, home to a 120-meter pagoda. Later, we head to Songdo Beach, riding the marine cable car (weather permitting). We’ll continue to the Gamcheon Culture Village. Overnight stay in Busan.
Saturday, April 26, 2025, we’ll transfer to the airport for the included flight to Tokyo. Upon arrival in Tokyo, after border procedures, an assistant will meet you. Then, you’ll take a shared shuttle bus to the hotel. Enjoy your free time. Overnight stay in Tokyo.
On Sunday, April 27, 2025, enjoy an extensive guided tour of Tokyo. We’ll begin with a brief stop at Zojoji Temple. Next, we’ll head to Shibuya Crossing and the Meiji Shrine. Our journey will continue by bus along Omotesando Avenue. We’ll see the Imperial Palace and its gardens and stop to admire the Nijubashi Bridge. As we proceed, we’ll pass through Akihabara district and drive past the Kokugikan. We’ll conclude in Asakusa, visiting the Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Street. Lunch will be included. In the evening, we’ll meet our guide in the hotel lobby and take the metro to Shinjuku district for dinner (included). Overnight stay in Tokyo.
Monday, April 28, 2025, we’ll journey to Mount Fuji, stopping at Arakurayama Sengen Park. From there, we’ll continue to Kawaguchiko, visiting the Fuji Sengen Shrine and taking a boat ride on Lake Kawaguchiko. We’ll ascend Mount Fuji to the Fifth Station. We’ll return to Kawaguchiko, with time to stroll along the lake. Tonight, we’ll stay in a ryokan. Dinner will be included. Overnight stay in Kawaguchiko.
On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, we’ll follow a scenic road to Iyashi no Sato Nenba, an open-air museum. Next, we’ll visit the Shiraito Falls. From there, we’ll continue to Nagoya, where we’ll visit the Toyota Museum. Finally, we’ll proceed to Kyoto. Overnight stay in Kyoto.
We’ll spend the entire day, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, exploring Kyoto. Our tour will begin in Arashiyama, where we’ll admire the Togetsukyo Bridge. We’ll then visit the Tenryuji Temple and walk through its bamboo forest. Next, we’ll explore the Fushimi Inari Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and the Kinkakuji Temple. After the tour, you can stroll through Gion. Overnight stay in Kyoto.
Thursday, May 1, 2025, we’ll depart for Nara to visit Todaiji Temple and interact with the deer in the park. Lunch will be included. Afterward, we’ll visit the Horyu-ji Buddhist Temple. Our journey will then take us to Osaka. Later, we’ll visit Dotonbori. Overnight stay in Osaka.
After breakfast on Friday, May 2, 2025, our journey will come to an end.
