Day 1: Arrival in Bhadrak – Transfer to Bhitarkanika – Evening at the Creek Edge

Arrive in Bhadrak and meet our tour representative at the railway station. Transfer toward the Bhitarkanika entry belt via the river port of Chandbali, roughly 55 km and around 2 to 2.5 hours by road, continuing to your nature camp near the Dangmal or Gupti entry side. Chandbali is a working river port and the traditional gateway to the mangroves. Check in and spend an unhurried evening at the creek edge — the park runs on tides and permits, not the clock. Overnight stay near Bhitarkanika (Dangmal/Gupti side).

Day 2: Full-Day Boat Safari – Dangmal, Crocodiles and Mangrove Creeks

The core wildlife day. After an early start, obtain the entry permit at the Khola or Gupti forest check gate and set out by forest-approved motorboat into the creek network. The narrower Khola creek runs closer and more jungly, giving the better chance of crocodiles resting on the banks a few feet from the boat; the broader Gupti route opens onto the grand river systems. Reach Dangmal, said to hold the highest concentration of wildlife, with its crocodile breeding centre, interpretation centre and mangrove boardwalk. Watch for saltwater crocodiles, spotted deer, wild boar, water monitors, and the park’s kingfishers and estuarine birdlife. Overnight stay near Bhitarkanika (Dangmal/Gupti side).

Day 3: Boat Transfer to Habalikhati – Gahirmatha Coastal Fringe and Beach

After breakfast, transfer deeper by boat through the creeks toward the Habalikhati nature camp, set on the mangrove-and-sea fringe near the Gahirmatha coast. The journey itself is the experience — narrow channels, dense Hental mangrove, and wildlife along the banks. Check in at the coastal camp, then spend the afternoon on the quiet Habalikhati beach and the forest trails behind it, on the edge of the world’s largest olive ridley turtle nesting ground — noting that the core Gahirmatha nesting beach itself is a strictly protected marine sanctuary and not open for casual access. A remote, low-facility stay under open coastal sky. Overnight stay at Habalikhati.

Day 4: Habalikhati – Bhitarkanika – Bhadrak Departure

An early morning on the coastal fringe for birding or a final walk, then transfer back by boat through the creeks to the entry gate, and on by road to Bhadrak, around 55 km and 2 to 2.5 hours via Chandbali, in time for your onward train. Overnight journey onward.
