Day 1: Trivandrum – Transfer to Munroe Island & Slow Arrival

Meet our representative at Trivandrum International Airport or railway station and transfer to Munroe Island, approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by road up the coast toward Kollam. This is an easy, flat drive. Munroe Island (Mundrothuruthu) is a cluster of eight small islets where the Kallada River meets Ashtamudi Lake, a place that runs almost entirely on canoes and canal life. Day 2: Munroe Island – Canal Canoe, Coir & Village Life

A full day inside the island’s daily rhythm. Early morning canal canoe when the water is stillest, this is the core experience, threading narrow channels too tight for any large boat, past coir-making, prawn and fish farming, and homes reached only by water. See traditional coir-spinning and the reverse-current where lake and river meet. The pace is deliberately unhurried, this is immersion, not itinerary. Day 3: Munroe Island – Departure to Trivandrum

After a slow breakfast and a final short paddle if the client wishes, transfer back to Trivandrum, approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by road, for onward departure. For clients continuing, Kollam town and Varkala’s clifftop beach both sit on the return road, worth flagging as add-on options.
