Day 1: Arrival in Udaipur – Ahar Cenotaphs & Archaeological Museum

Arrive in Udaipur and meet our tour representative at the airport or railway station. Check in at your hotel, then spend the afternoon at Ahar, on the edge of the city, home to more than 250 marble chhatris built up over roughly 350 years as the royal cremation ground of the Maharanas of Mewar. Visit the adjacent Ahar Archaeological Museum, with pottery dating back to 1700 BCE and a 10th-century metal image of the Buddha, alongside the ruins of the ancient settlement once known as Dhul Kot. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 2: Menar – The Bird Village

A full day out to Menar, about 45 km from Udaipur, a village where the local community has long protected the migratory birds that gather at its lakes, best seen in winter. Spend the day exploring the village and its lakeside birdlife at an easy pace, and learning about the conservation tradition that’s made this a genuinely local, community-led effort rather than a managed sanctuary. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 3: Jaisamand Lake & Wildlife Sanctuary

A full day at Jaisamand Lake, also known as Dhebar Lake, one of Asia’s largest artificial lakes, about 50 to 58 km from Udaipur. Take a boat out to see the six carved marble cenotaphs and the Shiva temple set into the dam, and view the queens’ former summer palaces, Hawa Mahal and Ruthi Rani ka Mahal, from the water. Continue into the surrounding Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary for a nature drive, watching for leopard, sloth bear, chital and chinkara across its teak forest. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 4: Udaipur Departure

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport or railway station for onward departure.
