Day 1: Mangalore – Dandeli

Depart Mangalore early morning by road, approximately 350 to 360 km and around 7 hours via NH66 and NH52 through Ankola, Yellapur and Haliyal. Check in at your riverside or forest resort by evening. Evening at leisure, settling in after a long travel day. Overnight stay in Dandeli.

Day 2: White Water Rafting and Wildlife Sanctuary

After breakfast, white water rafting on the Kali River, a 9 km stretch of Grade II and III rapids run by certified local operators. In the afternoon, a jungle safari through Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, home to hornbills, kingfishers and a range of forest wildlife. Overnight stay in Dandeli.

Day 3: Syntheri Rocks, Kavala Caves – Dandeli to Shivamogga

After breakfast, visit Syntheri Rocks, a striking cliff formation on the Kaneri river, followed by Kavala Caves and Sykes Point for a panoramic forest view. Late morning, check out and drive to Shivamogga, approximately 200 to 230 km and 4.5 to 5 hours. Check in by evening. Overnight stay in Shivamogga.

Day 4: Shivamogga Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit Sakrebailu Elephant Camp on the banks of the Tunga river, followed by Gajanur Dam nearby and, if time allows, Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Shivamogga.

Day 5: Jog Falls and Linganamakki Dam

After an early breakfast, drive to Jog Falls, about 100 km and 2 to 2.5 hours from Shivamogga, India’s second-highest plunge waterfall, where the Sharavathi river drops in four distinct falls. Visit Linganamakki Dam nearby, the reservoir that regulates the falls’ flow. Return to Shivamogga by evening. Overnight stay in Shivamogga.

Day 6: Shivamogga – Agumbe

After breakfast, check out and drive to Agumbe, approximately 90 to 95 km and around 2 hours. Check in at your homestay by early afternoon. In the evening, walk the short trail to Agumbe Sunset Point for the region’s signature Western Ghats view. Overnight stay in Agumbe.

Day 7: Barkana Falls and Onake Abbi Falls

After breakfast, trek to Barkana Falls, about 8 km away, India’s tenth-highest waterfall, with a local guide for the forest stretch. In the afternoon, visit Onake Abbi Falls or the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station, subject to advance booking. Overnight stay in Agumbe.

Day 8: Agumbe – Mangalore Departure

After breakfast, check out and depart on the return drive to Mangalore, approximately 98 to 105 km and 2 to 2.5 hours, arriving by early afternoon.
