Day 01: Chhindwara Arrival and Tamia Sunset

Begin your journey at Chhindwara Railway Station and spend about an hour at the Shri Badal Bhoi State Tribal Museum to understand the region’s tribal culture, metallurgy and agricultural systems before heading into the hills. After the museum visit, drive the scenic 56 km (approx 1.5 hours) to Tamia, stopping briefly at the Banjari Mata Temple at the base of Tultula Pahad for blessings before the ghat roads. On arrival check in to your chosen accommodation (options include MP Tourism Motel Tamia, Serendipity Lakes & Resorts, LETS Camp eco-tents, or Dhusa Vani Homestay) and enjoy a local lunch at a nearby dhaba featuring regional staples like Makki or Jowar rotis with Baingan ka Bharta, Chane ki bhaji and spicy tomato chutney. In the evening visit the historic Tamia PWD / Forest Rest House (Queen’s Point) perched on a cliff for a 1000‑ft deep panoramic view of the horseshoe valley and Satpura ranges, and stay to watch the magical sunset over the hills. Day 02: Patalkot Valley and Chhota Mahadev Trek

Start early and drive 22 km from Tamia into the deep Patalkot Valley, visiting the Rated View Point near Eureka Adventure Camp for sweeping top‑down views of the isolated tribal villages below. Spend mid‑morning interacting with Bharia and Gond tribal practitioners (Bhumkas) near the viewpoints to learn about and optionally purchase local medicinal herbs such as Keokand and Shatavari. Enjoy a pre‑booked authentic tribal meal at Patalkot ki Rasoi in Dongra village featuring dishes cooked on a mud stove like Pej, wild mushrooms and Mahua ki poori. Return to Tamia and set off on the steep 1.5–2 km trek down to Chhota Mahadev Temple from near the Rest House; the trail descends through a gorge to a natural cave shrine with a Shiva Lingam and a perennial waterfall that plunges ~35 feet onto the rocky shrine. The climb back up is demanding; relax at your resort afterwards and, if staying at a camp, enjoy a bonfire night. Overnight stay in Tamia.

Day 03: Vulture Point and Departure via Chhindwara

If you rise early, take the short 3 km hike to Chourapahad (Laal Pahadi or Vulture Point) for morning vistas over Sal forests and possible sightings of Indian vultures with distant views of the Pachmarhi hills. Later choose between adventure activities organized by local eco‑camps and youth (zipline, ATV rides, rock climbing, parasailing) or drive to Mahuljhir village to visit the Anhoni Hot Springs (Anhoni Kund) with its hot and cold sulfur‑rich pools. After a quick lunch in Tamia, check out and begin the daylight 56 km return drive down the ghats to Chhindwara Railway Station for onward travel, ensuring you traverse the ghats during daylight for safety.
