Day 01: Arrival in Lava and Monastery Visit
Upon arrival at NJP Station or Bagdogra Airport you will be warmly greeted and transferred to Lava a quiet hill settlement near Neora Valley National Park, with a scenic drive of around 4 to 5 hours through winding forest roads tea gardens and misty mountain bends. After checking in to your homestay or eco lodge enjoy a simple local lunch and spend the afternoon visiting Lava Monastery followed by a slow walk around Lava Bazaar for tea momos and local mountain snacks. Day 02: Neora Valley Walks in Lava
Start your day with breakfast before heading towards the Neora Valley National Park entry area for a guided forest experience through dense oak pine bamboo and rhododendron rich landscapes. Depending on weather and permissions enjoy short nature walks near the forest edge birdwatching and quiet viewpoints around Lava and Rishyap where clear skies may reveal Himalayan views. Return to Lava for lunch and spend the afternoon exploring the Nature Interpretation Centre learning about the region’s biodiversity and fragile mountain ecology. In the evening enjoy a homestay style dinner with local dishes warm tea and conversations about Lepcha Nepali and hill village life. Overnight stay in Lava.
Day 03: Departure from Lava and Transfer
After breakfast check out from your stay in Lava and begin your return transfer to NJP Station or Bagdogra Airport. If time allows take a short photo stop along the forested bends or tea garden stretches before descending towards the plains. The tour concludes with happy memories of your time in Lava.

We chose the Lava package from Ocean6 Holidays for a peaceful couple getaway and loved every moment. The forest views around Rishyap, the cool mountain weather and quiet evenings with tea and momos created such a relaxing experience. The itinerary was balanced and comfortable without unnecessary rushing. One of the most serene North Bengal trips we have done.
The Lava tour organized by Ocean6 Holidays was excellent for photography and birdwatching. The forests around Neora Valley were full of atmosphere with drifting mist, birdsong and beautiful mountain textures everywhere. I especially enjoyed the Nature Interpretation Centre visit and the peaceful forest-edge walks. The entire experience felt authentic, eco-friendly and deeply connected to the local landscape.
