Day 01: Arrival at Lepchajagat and Ghoom Viewpoint
Upon arrival at NJP Station or Bagdogra Airport you will be greeted and transferred to Lepchajagat via Ghoom and Sukhiapokhri on a scenic hill drive of around 3.5 to 4 hours; check in to a cosy homestay or forest lodge, enjoy a warm local lunch, and spend the afternoon walking through the quiet oak, pine, and rhododendron forests around the village soaking in mountain views and birdsong before relaxing with tea and a simple home‑cooked dinner. Overnight stay in Lepchajagat.
Day 02: Lepchajagat Viewpoint and Jorpokhri Ponds
Start with breakfast and an early nature walk to the Lepchajagat viewpoint for clear views of Kanchenjunga, then follow slow forest trails filled with mist and birdsong; later drive about 25–30 minutes to Jorpokhri to visit the peaceful twin ponds and enjoy the quiet mountain setting, continue to Sukhiapokhri bazaar for a short local market walk and sample local snacks like momos, thukpa, or sel roti before returning to Lepchajagat by late afternoon to interact with your homestay hosts and learn about Lepcha and hill culture while keeping the night plastic‑free and peaceful. Lepchajagat felt like a hidden forest paradise away from the busy tourist crowds. The peaceful oak and rhododendron trails, fresh mountain air and Kanchenjunga views made the trip unforgettable. Ocean6 Holidays arranged a beautiful homestay with warm hospitality and delicious local meals. Waking up to birdsong and misty forests was the highlight of our stay.
We travelled to Lepchajagat as a family and had a wonderful offbeat Himalayan experience. Ocean6 Holidays handled everything professionally including transfers, stay and local sightseeing. The children enjoyed the forest walks and birdwatching while our parents loved the peaceful village environment. The homestay food and local interactions made the trip feel very homely.
