Day 01: Leh Arrival and Acclimatization

On arrival at Leh airport you will be received and transferred to the hotel where the full day is kept free for rest and acclimatization to the high altitude; relax and take it easy to adjust to the thinner air and enjoy the hotel facilities. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 02: Leh Sindhu Darshan and Hemis Gompa

After breakfast drive to Sindhu Darshan on the banks of the historic Indus River and spend time by one of Asia’s longest rivers; later visit Shey Palace which was the summer retreat of Ladakh’s royal family, proceed to Hemis Gompa, the largest and wealthiest Drukpa Kagyu monastery noted for its wall paintings and thangkas, then visit Thiksey Monastery perched on a hill with stupas, statues and a large pillar depicting Buddha’s teachings, continue to Rancho School known as Druk White Lotus School and enjoy some free time. Day 03: Uleytokpo Spituk Temple and Lamayuru Monastery

After breakfast drive towards Uleytokpo / Lamayuru with enroute visits to Spituk Kali Mata Temple and the Hall of Fame war museum constructed by the Indian Army, stop at Patthar Sahib Gurudwara and experience Magnetic Hill where vehicles appear to defy gravity, view the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, continue to Lamayuru Monastery to witness its mesmerizing moon landscape and on arrival check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Uleytokpo.

Day 04: Leh Alchi and Likir Monasteries

After breakfast drive back to Leh with visits to Alchi village to see the ancient Alchi Monastery famed for its Indo Himalayan 11th–12th century wall paintings, visit Likir Monastery known for its large gold covered Buddha statue, and later return to Leh to visit Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks for world peace, Leh Palace overlooking the town and the local market for shopping and leisure. Day 05: Nubra Valley Khardungla Pass and Diskit Monastery

After breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world, admire panoramic snow capped mountain views at Khardungla (18,390 feet) then proceed to Nubra where optional adventure activities like ATV rides are available on direct payment basis; after hotel check in visit the 108 ft Maitreya Buddha at Diskit Monastery, explore Hunder village and the cold desert where the double humped Bactrian camels are found and enjoy sand dunes (camel rides on direct payment basis). Overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 06: Nubra Turtuk Village and Thang Zero Point

After breakfast drive to Turtuk, the once restricted border village opened to tourists since 2010, pass Thoise military airfield, visit Turtuk wooden bridge, Shyok war memorial, Balti Heritage House and Museum and Turtuk Waterfalls, then proceed to Thang for a photo stop at the Line of Control area (Thang Zero Point) subject to operational permissions, view nearby bunkers and the Shyok river before returning to Nubra. Overnight stay in Nubra.

Day 07: Pangong Lake via Shyok Valley

Depart Nubra and follow the route via Khalsar and Agyam bridge towards Shyok and Durbuk, take the left route towards Tangtse and continue to Pangong Lake, one of the largest natural brackish lakes in the Himalayas situated at about 14,000 ft where more than half lies in China; explore the lake area, visit iconic shooting points, try local food at small lakeside restaurants and relax watching the colour changing waters at sunset. Overnight stay in Pangong.

Day 08: Leh Changla Pass and Pangong Sunrise

Enjoy an early morning sunrise over Pangong Lake, after breakfast drive back to Leh with a short halt at Changla Pass for tea and photos, arrive in Leh and check in to the hotel with the rest of the day at leisure to rest or explore the local market. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 09: Leh Departure and Airport Transfer
