Ramayana Circuit Tour with Sri Lanka

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

Upon arrival at Delhi airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative in the traditional Indian manner. You will be escorted to your pre-arranged accommodation. After checking in, take some time to rest after your long flight. Later, enjoy a day of local sightseeing in New Delhi and Old Delhi. In the evening, visit the India Gate for leisure. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi to Ayodhya

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Delhi airport for your flight to Ayodhya. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel. After some rest, embark on a spiritual journey through Ayodhya, visiting Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi, Hanuman Garhi, Sita Ki Rasoi, and Kanak Bhavan Temple. The evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay in Ayodhya.

Day 3: Ayodhya to Prayagraj

After breakfast, drive to Prayagraj, which is about 180 km away (a 4-hour drive). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. After some rest, visit Triveni Sangam, Prayagraj Fort, Prayagraj Museum, and Anand Bhavan. The evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay in Prayagraj.

Day 4: Prayagraj to Chitrakoot and Back

After breakfast, take an excursion trip to Chitrakoot, which is approximately 130 km away. Enjoy a spiritual journey in Chitrakoot by visiting Ramghat, Hanuman Dhara, Marpha, Bharat Milap Temple, Janki Kund, and Bharat Kup. After your visit, return to Prayagraj for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Prayagraj to Varanasi

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Varanasi, which is about 160 km away (a 4-hour drive). Upon arrival, check in at your pre-booked hotel. Varanasi, also known as Banaras or Kashi, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Uttar Pradesh. After resting for a while, visit New Vishwanath Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Sarnath, and attend the evening Ganga Aarti. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 6: Varanasi to Sitamarhi

Depart from Varanasi in the morning and drive to Sitamarhi, approximately 250 km away (a 6-7 hour drive). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. After freshening up, visit the Sita Kund, a sacred pond associated with Sita’s stay during her exile. Explore other attractions in Sitamarhi such as Punaura Dham and Haleshwar Sthan. Overnight stay in Sitamarhi.

Day 7: Sitamarhi to Janakpur

Leave Sitamarhi early in the morning and head towards Janakpur, which is about 100 km away (a 3-4 hour drive). After crossing the India-Nepal border, begin your spiritual journey in Janakpur with a visit to Janaki Mandir and other significant sites associated with Sita and Lord Rama. Overnight stay in Janakpur.

Day 8: Janakpur to Patna

Depart from Janakpur and drive to Patna, approximately 230 km away (a 6-7 hour drive). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. After some rest, visit Patna Sahib Gurudwara, a significant Sikh pilgrimage site, and explore other attractions in Patna such as Patna Museum, Golghar, and Mahatma Gandhi Setu. Overnight stay in Patna.

Day 9: Patna to Mumbai and Nashik

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to the airport for your flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival in Mumbai, our chauffeur will meet you and drive you to Nashik (Panchavati), which is about 180 km away (a 4-hour drive). Panchavati is the place in the Dandakaranya forest where Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshman spent their exile. Upon arrival in Nashik, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay in Nashik.

Day 10: Nashik Sightseeing

After breakfast, embark on a local sightseeing tour in Nashik. Visit Sita Gufa, Kalaram Temple, Ramkund, Ganga Ghat, and Shri Kailash Math. Return to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Nashik.

Day 11: Nashik to Mumbai and Bangalore

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Mumbai. From Mumbai, catch your flight to Bangalore. Upon arrival in Bangalore, transfer to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free for leisure and individual activities. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 12: Bangalore to Hampi

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Hampi, which is about 380 km away (an 8-hour drive). Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation. Overnight stay in Hampi.

Day 13: Hampi to Kishkindha and Back

After breakfast, take a short excursion to Kishkindha, the monkey kingdom ruled by Sugriva in the Ramayana. Visit the Group of Monuments at Hampi, Anjaneya Parvat, Vijaya Vittala Temple, and the old way to Kishkindha. Return to Hampi for an overnight stay.

Day 14: Hampi to Bangalore

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Bangalore, approximately 380 km away (an 8-hour drive). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax after the long journey. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 15: Bangalore to Madurai

After breakfast, proceed to Bangalore airport for your flight to Madurai. Upon arrival in Madurai, transfer to your pre-booked hotel. After some rest, embark on a spiritual journey, visiting Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, Thirupparankundram, Pazhamutircolai, and Palani Murugan Temple. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 16: Madurai to Rameshwaram and Back

Early in the morning, depart for Rameshwaram, about 180 km away (a 3-hour drive). Rameshwaram is the site where Lord Rama’s army built the Ram Setu to reach Lanka. Visit Rameshwar Jyotirlinga and other significant sites. After darshan, return to Madurai for an overnight stay.

Day 17: Madurai to Colombo and Kandy

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Madurai airport for your flight to Colombo. Upon arrival at Colombo International Airport, you will be welcomed by your chauffeur and proceed directly to Kandy, about 130 km away (a 2-hour drive). Check in at your hotel in Kandy. In the evening, participate in a puja ceremony at the Temple of the Holy Tooth Relic and attend a cultural dance show by Kandy Lake. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 18: Kandy to Matale and Back

After breakfast, proceed to Matale to visit the Muthumariamman Kovil, a large and colorful Tamil temple. Explore the Riverston mountain area and visit the traditional Tamil Rama temple in Rattota, along with newly identified Ramayana sites like Lakgala and Yahangala. Walk along jungle paths to Sita Kotuwa, believed to be Sita’s first abode on the island. Return to Kandy for an overnight stay.

Day 19: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Nuwara Eliya, approximately 80 km away (a 1-hour drive). On the way, visit Rangoda and enjoy the view of Rangoda Falls. Visit the Hanuman temple erected by the Chinmaya mission and have a break at Labookellie tea plantation. Check in at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 20: Nuwara Eliya to Colombo

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit the Sita Amman Temple in Sita Eliya, believed to be the place of Sita’s captivity called Ashoka Vatika. Visit the Buddhist stupa at Divurumpola, where Sita’s fire ordeal, Agni Pariksha, is believed to have taken place. The drive back to Colombo will take you through the splendid tea areas around Hatton. Arrive in Colombo by late afternoon for a brief city tour. Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 21: Colombo to New Delhi

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Colombo airport for your flight to New Delhi, concluding your Ramayana Trail journey.
