Day 01: Arrive at Leh Airport (3505 meters / 11567 ft)

Arrive at Leh Airport and transfer to the hotel. Complete rest for the first half. After lunch, if suitable, visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Leh Market.

• Shanti Stupa: A white-domed Buddhist Stupa built to promote world peace and prosperity. The unique structure and picturesque view of the surrounding areas make it a niche for photographers and a perfect place to meditate. Take the staircase for a fun and satisfying adventure. Shanti Stupa looks beautiful and serene in all seasons, especially when it snows. Let your curiosity lead you to this peaceful place that will mesmerize you with its beauty and calmness.
• Leh Palace: A 17th-century former royal palace, modeled after the Potala Palace in Tibet. It houses a museum and prayer room. The palace’s rooftop offers a sweeping view of Leh and the Zanskar mountains. Despite being partly in ruins, the palace still boasts ancient relics, paintings, utensils, and artifacts that are almost 450 years old. The palace is a sight to behold when lit up during special occasions like the GaldamNamchot festival. Under the Archaeological Survey of India, the palace is being renovated to preserve the history of the Namgyal dynasty in Leh.
• Leh Main Market: A vibrant and lively hub in Ladakh, offering a variety of products ranging from jewelry and clothing to groceries and local street food. With a fanciful arrangement of stores, shops, and stalls, the market is an attractive destination to browse and find items of your choice. Shopkeepers and sellers are easily accessible and eager to help you navigate the bustling market.

Day 02: Leh – Sangam – Hall of Fame – Magnetic Hill – Gurudwara Pathar Sahib

After breakfast, drive for a full-day excursion:

• Sangam View: Where Indus and Zanskar rivers meet. You may opt for river rafting (own cost).
• Magnetic Hill: Situated on the Leh-Kargil Highway, it is a remarkable stretch of road that seems to defy the laws of gravity. Approximately 30 km from Leh City, it is a must-see destination known for its ability to pull stationary vehicles towards it.
• Gurudwara Pathar Sahib: Holds great religious significance for Sikhs. It was constructed in 1517 to honor Guru Nanak’s visit to Ladakh.
• Spituk Monastery: Home for the wish-fulfilling Kali Mata.
• Hall of Fame: A war memorial museum.

Return to Leh for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Leh – Nubra Valley (via Khardungla Pass)

After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, one of the highest motorable roads in the world at 18,300 feet. Enjoy the stunning views. Explore the valley and visit Hunder, known for its rolling sand dunes and double-humped camels. Option for a camel safari (own cost). Dinner and overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Day 04: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shayok

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Pangong Lake via Shyok, Tangtse, and Spangmik. Visit Disket Monastery en route. The road follows the Shyok River and descends into Shayok village. Reach Pangong Lake in the afternoon and enjoy the majestic lake. Overnight stay in cottages/camps at Pangong.

Day 05: Pangong Tso – Tso Moriri

Drive to Tso Moriri Lake. This journey takes you through the isolated stretches of the Changthang plateau. En route, visit the faraway settlement of Chushul. Tso Moriri is situated at an altitude of 4511 meters above sea level with an area of about 140 sq. km. Spend your evening watching the shadows of the surrounding mountains and the varying depths of Tso Moriri Lake. Stay in tented cottages at Tso Moriri.

Day 06: Tso Moriri – Tso Kar – Taglang La – Leh (17582 ft)

After breakfast, retrace the route down to Puga Sumdo and then follow the road across the Polokongka Pass (4920 meters) to visit Tsokar Lake, a salt lake system in the Rupsho plateau. This area is home to the Changpa nomads and supports many rare wildlife species. After sightseeing, take the Manali-Leh road to return to Leh, crossing Taglang La Pass. En route, visit Shey Palace and Thiksey Monastery. Arrive at the hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07: Leh Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Leh Airport for your return journey with sweet memories of the Ladakh Tour.

Special Instructions:

• Only post-paid mobile phones work in Leh-Ladakh, preferably BSNL, Airtel, Vodafone. As phones may not work at many places, keep your family members informed well in advance not to worry if they fail to contact you.
• You would hardly find any cellular network in most of the areas in Leh. BSNL works better here, however you would find Airtel signals also at some places.
• Carry good sunscreen lotion, sunglasses (goggles), and a cap with you to avoid sunburn as sun rays are direct and can burn your skin.
• Don’t forget to carry a photo ID with you. Passport is the best option. Voter Cards & Aadhaar Cards are also valid.
• Leh has only a few ATM machines where you can withdraw cash. But mostly these machines witness long queues of customers and run out of cash most of the time. So carrying enough cash is advisable.
