Day 01: Srinagar Arrival and Gardens

Upon arrival at Srinagar airport, you will be greeted by a Kailash Expeditions representative and transferred to your houseboat or hotel. Begin your exploration of paradise with a half-day tour of the world-famous Mughal Gardens built during the Mughal reign in Kashmir, including Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). Enjoy a hot lunch at the houseboat. In the afternoon, experience a Shikara ride on Dal Lake, soaking in the scenic beauty of the mountains surrounding the lake. Overnight stay in Houseboat.

Day 02: Scenic Drive to Kargil

After morning tea and a hearty breakfast, embark on one of the most exhilarating and beautiful drives in the world, from Srinagar to Leh via Kargil. The road passes through panoramic villages to reach Sonmarg (2740 mtrs), following lush green fields. After Sonmarg, the road becomes rough and wet leading to Zojila pass (3527 mtrs), the Gateway of Ladakh, often covered in snow. Continue towards Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world, for refreshments and passport check. A few more hours of driving will take you to Kargil (2710 mtrs). Overnight stay in Kargil.

Day 03: Lamayuru & Magnetic Hill

After breakfast, start driving towards Leh. En route, make a quick visit to the Lamayuru monastery, known for its unique moon-like landscape. Capture the beauty to cherish the memories. Continue your journey and stop at the Magnetic Hill to marvel at the natural wonder. Also, pay respects at Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Continue your road journey and, upon arrival in Leh, visit the Hall of Fame Museum, a war memorial by the Indian Army founded in memory of Indian soldiers. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 04: Nubra Valley via Khardungla

After an early breakfast, drive to the beautiful Nubra Valley via Khardungla, the highest motorable road in the world at 18,380 ft. The zig-zag trail continues until you reach Hunder village. Check in at Nature’s Nest North Camp. In the afternoon, enjoy the beauty of the sand dunes and a double-hump camel ride. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Day 05: Turtuk Village Excursion

Embark on an early morning drive to Turtuk village, approximately 115 kms from Nubra Valley (3-4 hours drive). Turtuk, with a population of just 4000, follows Islam and was under Pakistan control until about 40 years ago; the local language is Baltistan. Explore the beautiful village, immersing yourself in the local life with a walk around the village and meeting the people. Return to Hunder village later. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Day 06: Diskit & Pangong via Shayok

Wake up early to visit Diskit Monastery and admire the wonderful view of Nubra Valley. Later, drive to Pangong Lake via the Shayok route. Enjoy the turquoise color of the panoramic lake and the magnificent mountain landscapes. Visit popular photo spots, including the “3 Idiots” shooting location. Overnight stay in Pangong Lake.

Day 07: Serene Pangong & Leh Return

After a late breakfast, stroll around the lake and soak in the soothing beauty of nature. Later, drive back to Leh, visiting Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace, if not visited the day before. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 08: Leh to Alchi/Uley Drive

Today, after breakfast, proceed towards Uley via Alchi Monastery. Overnight stay in Uley.

Day 09: Journey to Srinagar

After breakfast, depart from Uley. Experience the thrill of driving through Zoji La, one of the most challenging and scenic mountain passes. Stop briefly for photos and enjoy the breathtaking views. Reach Sonamarg (“Meadow of Gold”) is a stunning valley. Have lunch at a local restaurant and take in the beauty of the surroundings. Later drive towards Srinagar. Drive along the Sind River and enjoy the lush green landscapes as you approach Srinagar. Arrive in Srinagar. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 10: Departure from Srinagar

After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Srinagar airport for your onward journey, filled with sweet memories of Kashmir and Ladakh.
