Day 1: Arrival in Sri Lanka and Visit to Dambulla Cave Temple

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a representative. Transfer to Dambulla to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, considered the largest painted cave complex in the world, featuring over 22,000 square feet of painted surfaces with numerous paintings, sculptures, and statues of Lord Buddha, his disciples, kings, and gods. In the afternoon, proceed to Sigiriya to climb the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya, a royal citadel built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century AD. Highlights include the frescoes, mirror wall, and the lion’s paw, regarded as the 8th Wonder of the Modern World. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Sigiriya to Kandy

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Kandy, the Hill Capital. Kandy is known for its natural protection provided by water, rocks, and jungles. It was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings before falling to the British in 1815 and is now a World Heritage Site. The city’s centerpiece is the golden-roofed Temple of the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. The Kandy Lake, built by the last King Sri Wickramarajasinghe in 1806, offers a prominent view of the city. En-route, visit the Spice Garden in Matale to see various spices Sri Lanka is famous for. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, proceed to Nuwara Eliya, including a city tour and a visit to Gregory Lake. Nuwara Eliya, nestled in a wooded basin at the foot of Mount Pidurutalagala, Sri Lanka’s highest peak, is known for its cool, crisp climate and serene atmosphere. En-route, visit a tea garden, tea factory, and a waterfall. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya to Ella

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Ella, a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province, situated at an elevation of 1,041 meters above sea level. Ella is known for its rich biodiversity and numerous varieties of flora and fauna. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Ella to Bentota

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Bentota, a resort town on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. Bentota Beach stretches north, becoming a sandy strip known as Paradise Island, parallel to Bentota Lagoon. Visit dive sites such as Canoe Rock and the centuries-old Galapota Temple with its large Buddha statue. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Bentota and Turtle Hatchery Visit

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda Beach, one of 18 turtle hatcheries along the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The center is located in the southwestern coastal village of Kosgoda and was established in 1981. It is known for hosting all five species of turtles that visit Sri Lanka. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Bentota to Colombo

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Colombo is a blend of East and West, past and present. It offers many attractions, shopping opportunities, and a variety of cuisine. In the afternoon, undertake a city tour of Colombo, including visits to a Buddhist temple, Pettah, Dutch Wolvendhal Church, a Hindu temple, a mosque, Town Hall, BMICH, Cinnamon Gardens, the Nelum Pokuna Performing Arts Theatre, and the newly opened Nelum Kuluna – South Asia’s highest tower. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to the airport for departure.
